Eighteen straight wins and counting.

Manchester City's run through the start of this season has been absolutely astonishing. There's virtually nothing slowing this team down at this point, and you'd like to think that a trip to Selhurst Park on New Year's Eve against Crystal Palace isn't going to be any different.

Don't miss the Barclays Premier League action from Selhurst Park at 7 a.m. ET on Sunday, December 31, 2017. Catch every moment of the match live on NBC Sports Network.

Odds Analysis

It's so hard to put betting lines up on Manchester City right now. The fact that the team is laying a goal and a half on the road against anyone in the top-flight is stunning in and of itself. Eventually, you'd like to think that this team is going to come back down to earth, but after another 1-0 win on Wednesday at Newcastle, it's hard to see this run ending.

The other scary factor about City matches is the fact that the books have to throw high totals out there. We're still talking about a team that has 61 goals in 20 matches thus far this season. Anything less than the ridiculously high 3.5 that is up for this game almost seems to be asking for trouble.

Key Injuries

Keep an eye on Fabian Delph and Vincent Kompany for Manchester City this week. Delph was a surprising scratch against Newcastle after being "not fully fit" according to Pep Guardiola. Kompany was only in the match for 10 minutes before being taken off for a sub. Neither man seems to have any long-term problems, but there's little reason to risk either player with Champions League matches coming up in a few short weeks.

Roy Hodgson has far more problems to deal with on the injury front. Timothy Fosu-Mensah seems to be poised for a long stretch on the bench with a hamstring problem, and Mamadou Sakho is going to be out until some point in January with a calf injury. Joel Ward hasn't played since early in December, and Connor Wickham could be out for the rest of the year thanks to a knee injury.

Recent Form

There really isn't anything else to say about Manchester City's form. It's the best run in Premier League history, and the argument could be made that this is the most impressive stretch for any team in major club soccer history in Europe. Could this team really run through the whole season without a single defeat? It isn't out of the realm of possibility.

Palace has clawed its way out of the relegation zone, and it has eight straight positive results under its belt heading into a Thursday night match with Arsenal. Keep in mind that this is going to be a quick turnaround for the Eagles to play on Sunday after playing on Thursday, but if they do manage to get something from that match at home against the Gunners, they could be setup for a huge shock at Selhurst Park.

They don't call this team "Plucky Palace" for nothing. Wilfried Zaha is having a strong season, and James McArthur is slowly but surely taking over the team's midfield.

Hodgson has been a miracle worker with this team this season, and we think this could be his crowning moment. We've already seen the Eagles beat Leicester City away and Chelsea at home. Could the biggest jewel be coming? It's hard to call for an outright upset, but we think Crystal Palace is a live longshot worth a chance, at least on the Asian Handicap.

Barclays Premier League Odds: Crystal Palace 1, Manchester City 1
