2017-Soccer-Arsenal-vs.-Tottenham-(NBCSN)-preview-Betting-Odds

To say that there isn't any love lost between Arsenal and Tottenham would be a tremendous understatement. These two London sides absolutely cannot stand each other, and this first matchup of the year of these two rivals should show that tremendous disdain, particularly off of an international hiatus.

Don't miss the English Premier League action from Emirates Stadium at 7:30 a.m. ET on Saturday, November 18, 2017. Catch every moment of the match live on NBC Sports Network.

Odds Analysis

The Gunners didn't have the better of these two sides last season, and they don't have the better side this year either. That said, they do have home pitch advantage in this matchup and are +140 favorites to get the job done and take down three crucial points from their arch rivals.

Still, Tottenham has a believable price of +180 and very well could take a tremendous bite out of its foes from the other side of town.

The total of 2.5 with -150 vig on the over is fairly par for the course in a season that has been slightly higher-scoring than normal in the EPL.

Key Injuries

Arsene Wenger is hoping that the time off for the international break will see some of his dinged up players get healthy enough to play in this match. Santiago Cazorla won't be back until after Christmas, but the news seems to be better for Callum Chambers, Olivier Giroud, Rob Holding, Per Mertesacker, Shkodran Mustafi and Danny Welbeck. Though all of these men are currently on the injury report, all of them are expected to be back in training by Thursday or Friday and should be available for selection by Saturday morning.

Tottenham has some serious questions right now off of the international break. Though Toby Alderweireld is expected to return to the lineup for this match, we're not all that sure if Dele Alli or Harry Kane will be able to say the same. Both men missed matches just before the break, and that problem could be rearing its ugly head once again.

Remember, too, that Hugo Lloris is still out of the fold thanks to a thigh injury, and that's putting a lot of pressure on at the back where the team has been so good for years and years thanks to the Frenchman.

Recent Form

In spite of the injuries Tottenham has had to deal with, the team played well to kick off November, scoring a huge win in the Champions League over Real Madrid at following that up with a 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace. Still, the team comes back from the break third on the table and a whopping eight points adrift from Manchester City at the top of the table.

Though Arsenal is technically only four points behind Tottenham, it feels like a chasm at this point. The Gunners were clocked 3-1 by Manchester City at the Etihad just before the international break, and that came on the heels of a scoreless draw in the Europa League against Red Star Belgrade.

The Gunners are in some serious trouble at this point in the season, but we do think they're set to get some respite here in spite of the fact that Tottenham has the more talented side. Christian Eriksen just made a huge name for himself for his country when he bagged a hat trick against Ireland to put Denmark in the World Cup last week.

Still, Eriksen can't do this by himself. If Alli, Kane and Lloris are all out of the fold, that's three of the best players in all of the EPL that aren't in the lineup. We'll take our chances at that point on Arsenal at home.
