Manchester United’s Champions League dreams have come to an end. They valiantly rallied against Paris Saint Germain to make the quarterfinals, but Barcelona were too much to overcome. Now, they face an uphill climb to make it back to the Champions League. The Red Devils have been on a torrid pace since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took over as manager, but right now they are in sixth place and need to catch at least two teams to finish in the top four. That makes their match against Everton a must win.

Odds Analysis
Low-scoring games have been the norm for Everton in recent weeks. There last four matches have all seen two goals or less scored, and one of the two teams has been shut out in eight of their last nine matches. The Toffees posted clean sheets in upset wins over Chelsea and Arsenal over the last month, and they blanked West Ham on the road a couple weeks back too. However, they lost a very winnable game to relegated Fulham last Saturday, and that cost them a chance to move into seventh after losses from Leicester City and Wolves.
The Red Devils’ torrid pace has slowed down in recent weeks, and now they are three points behind Tottenham Hotspur and two points behind Arsenal and Chelsea. They have two wins and two losses in their last four league matches, but they very easily could have failed to get a win in any of the four. Manchester United fell to Arsenal and Wolves, and they needed two Paul Pogba penalties to beat West Ham last weekend.
The first meeting between these two teams was a thriller. Manchester United and Everton both had a number of chances, and the Red Devils secured a 2-1 win at Old Trafford. Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial scored for the hosts, while Gylfi Sigurdsson netted for Everton.
Key Injuries
Andre Gomes has been suspended for three games by a disciplinary board, so he will be unavailable for Everton here. Yerry Mina is hoping to be available by the end of the season, but he is still recovering from a thigh injury. Morgan Schneiderlin is dealing with an ankle injury, and he is listed as probable.
Luke Shaw will be suspended for this match after picking up his 10th yellow card, but he will be available when Manchester United take on Manchester City on Wednesday. Antonio Valencia, Eric Bertrand Bailly, and Ander Herrera have also been ruled out for the Red Devils.
Player to Watch
It will be interesting to see how David De Gea bounces back after a frustrating night on Tuesday. With Manchester United already down 1-0 to Barcelona, he let in a howler that put Barca up 2-0 and all but ended United’s comeback hopes. It was reminiscent of the Robert Green Hand of Clod goal, and he will be roundly pilloried by the media in the coming days.
Prop Bet – Under 2 and 2.5 Goals +119
There have been a number of low scoring matches for the Toffees recently, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see this one follow suit. Everton have just two real offensive options in Sigurdsson and Richarlison, and they will be more concerned with stopping Manchester United.

This has the potential to be a letdown, lookahead spot. Manchester United are understandably down after being bounced from the Champions League, and they are likely to be peaking ahead to their clash with Manchester City on Wednesday. I think Everton will catch them off-guard and pull off the upset.
English Premier League Odds: Everton 1, Manchester United 0
