With Liverpool currently perfect on the year, Manchester City know what they must do. The Citizens are five points behind Liverpool in their bid to repeat as Premier League champions, so they must not drop points against mid-table teams like Everton. The Toffees ended up playing spoiler for Liverpool last year as their draw with the Reds led to Manchester City retaking the lead in the Premier League race, and the Citizens are out to prevent falling into the same trap.

Odds Analysis
Coming into the year, Everton was a trendy pick to be the best of the non-Big Six clubs. However, the Toffees have not been sharp, and their only two wins have come against the only two winless teams in the Premier League.
Everton defeated both Watford and Wolverhampton Wanderers at home, but they couldn’t get past newly promoted Aston Villa in late August and Bournemouth beat them 3-1 after the international break. The worst defeat though came last week when the Toffees dropped a home game against lowly Sheffield United despite being hefty favorites per the soccer betting odds. Everton controlled the ball for 70 percent of the match, but the Toffees couldn’t put together quality chances, and Sheffield United turned both of their shots into goals.
Manchester City are either blowing out opponents or failing to get victories. The Citizens have yet to win any of their matches this year by just one goal, winning six matches in all competitions by two or more goals, and five of those six wins were by at least three goals. They set a Premier League record by scoring five goals in 18 minutes against Watford last week in an 8-0 victory, and they already have a +18 goal differential through six league games. A controversial draw against Tottenham and a stunning loss at Norwich City are the only two hiccups on their schedule.
Key Injuries
Andre Gomes has been ruled out of this match by Everton as he has a rib issue that has left him off the training grounds. The Toffees won’t have Jean-Philippe Gbamin either as he recovers from a thigh injury, but those are the only two absences for Everton.
Leroy Sane and Aymeric Laporte are both long-term injuries for Manchester City and neither player is expected to return until 2020. With Laporte out, City could ill afford another injury to their back line, but unfortunately John Stones is now injured too. He injured his thigh and will be out until mid-October.
Player to Watch
Kevin De Bruyne has had a wonderful start to the season. City’s playmaking midfielder has seven assists already this campaign, and his extraordinary vision and deft passing have led to his club running riot over multiple opponents. It also keeps City’s forwards very happy, turning this attack into a well-oiled machine.
Prop Bet – Manchester City Over 2.5 Goals +105
The Citizens have scored three or more goals in six of their eight games in all competitions this year, so I’ll take my chances they find the back of the net multiple times. City have tallied three goals against Everton in two of the last three meetings between these clubs, and their offense is firing on all cylinders.

Richarlison and the Toffees will put up a fight at home, but it won’t be enough to stop a dominant City team.
