Arsenal and Liverpool are tied at the top of the table after two weeks of Premier League action. These two clubs are the only teams that have won both their games thus far, so a win for either side would move them two points clear of the field. The oddsmakers have installed Liverpool as a hefty favorite per the EPL betting odds, but Arsenal are out to turn the preseason wisdom on its head.

Odds Analysis
The last time Arsenal went to Anfield, the result wasn’t great. The Gunners opened the scoring with an 11th minute goal from Ainsley Maitland-Niles, but then Liverpool burst open the floodgates. Roberto Firmino notched two goals in the next five minutes and ended with a hat trick, while Sadio Mane and Mo Salah also tallied scores in a 5-1 win for Liverpool.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been huge for Arsenal already this season. He scored the club’s lone goal in a 1-0 road win over Newcastle in the opener, and he hammered home the game-winning goal against Burnley in a 2-1 win at the Emirates last weekend.
The Gunners’ back line has performed much better than what we saw last season through two games, but to be honest, neither Newcastle nor Burnley are known for their offensive prowess.
Liverpool started off their campaign with a bang. The Reds cruised to a 4-1 win over Norwich City in the opener, and they followed that up by claiming a piece of hardware with a shootout win over Chelsea to win the UEFA Super Cup in Istanbul. They faced a tricky test on the road against Southampton last week on short rest, but Liverpool answered the call with Mane and Firmino scoring goals in a 2-1 win.
Key Injuries
Arsenal recently ruled out three of their players until mid-October. Hector Bellerin, Konstantinos Mavropanos, and Kieran Tierney are all dealing with long-term injuries and won’t be available for the first couple months of the Premier League campaign. Rob Holding and Mesut Ozil are both considered questionable for this match, while Granit Xhaka is probable to play.
Nathaniel Clyne won’t be available for Liverpool until 2020 after tearing his ACL in the preseason, and star goalkeeper Alisson will be out for another month with a calf injury. Naby Keita suffered an injury last week, and he is out for an unspecified amount of time.
Player to Watch
With Alisson sidelined, there were fears that Liverpool would fall behind the pace in the Premier League, but Adrian has filled in admirably. He was the hero in the UEFA Super Cup win, and he played well in the victory over Southampton. Liverpool must survive a few more weeks without Alisson, so Adrian must continue to play well.
Prop Bet – Liverpool Over 2.5 Goals +120
I don’t believe that Arsenal’s back line problems have been fixed. Their schedule has masked a lot of their deficiencies, and I think that Liverpool will be able to pick Arsenal apart in the back. Firmino, Salah, and Mane are a devastating trio, and Georginio Wijnaldum has been in great form recently too.

Liverpool are not in the habit of dropping points against Arsenal, and the Reds will keep their foot on the gas pedal this week. The Gunners only have two real scoring options in Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette, and Liverpool will be able to put the clamps on this attack.
English Premier League Odds: Liverpool 3, Arsenal 1
