Soccer Odds - LA Galaxy vs. New England Revolution Match Preview

LA-Galaxy-vs.-New-England-Bet6

The New England Revolution have yet to taste victory on the road this season in five tries.

Heading to the West Coast to take on the LA Galaxy, who haven't lost a game at home this year, probably won't be the remedy to that problem.

ODDS ANALYSIS

The Galaxy almost have to be the heavy favorites in this match just because of their awesome home form. They're 3-1-0 thus far in the early going at the StubHub Center, and they've consistently dominated on this pitch for years. The margin though, is a big one at -175, the equivalent of getting the nod by a full goal on the Asian Handicap.

The total is very high as well at 2.5 and -153 vig on the over, a number which more or less insinuates that the Galaxy will score at least twice, if not more than that.

KEY INJURIES

The biggest problem LA has coming into this one is the fact that Ashley Cole won't be playing due to suspension. He was automatically suspended for this match after picking up a red card last week against Sporting Kansas City.

There could be problems up front for the Galaxy as well. Super sub Alan Gordon and Robbie Keane are both questionable for this match. Steven Gerrard is also a question mark, while Leonardo is expected to miss the fixture thanks to a leg problem.

The Revs have their own issues to deal with. They've got two starting defenders in Chris Tierney and Je-Vaughn Watson on the mend, while Charlie Davis and Steve Neumann are also almost certainly out of the fold. Teal Bunbury missed last week's match against Orlando City and is questionable for this one.

LIVE BETTING

The Revolution are in real trouble if their recent form suggests anything. They drew an ugly match with Orlando City at home last weekend, and that came just four days after drawing against Portland. That's five matches in a row without a win for New England, and the pressure is mounting in an Eastern Conference which is much better now than it has been in recent years.

LA has been in a goal-scoring mood of late for sure. Yes, the team only drew Sporting KC 1-1 last week, but that match was on the road. The last time the Galaxy played at the StubHub Center, they walked away with a 5-2 triumph. Bruce Arena's side hasn't been beaten in six fixtures in a row.

QUICK PICK

The good news for the Galaxy is that they haven't really needed their top flight attackers to score goals. Gyasi Zardes is in fantastic form, and Giovani dos Santos has proven that the money he has been paid has been worth it. Both men have four goals to lead the team this season, and dos Santos has all four of his goals in his last three matches.

It's interesting though, that the Galaxy haven't posted a clean sheet at home all season long. They've allowed five goals in four matches, and they've been covering up their defensive woes by scoring at least three goals in three of their four matches as well.

New England's problems at the back might ultimately be exposed in this one again, but we have to imagine that Bobby Shuttleworth will be better in net on Sunday than he has been in recent weeks.

This MLS match could end up in a disappointing draw for the Galaxy if they aren't careful.
