Soccer Odds - Puerto Rico vs. United States Match Preview

2016-Puerto-Rico-vs.-USA-Betting-Odds

The United States Men's National Team will have a couple more prep matches to play before making their final decisions over their roster at Copa America Centenario. The first of those duels is a somewhat tricky one on the road against Puerto Rico, a team which would love nothing more than to add to the misery for Jurgen Klinsmann.

There will be soccer odds at BookMaker.eu available for this U.S. Men's National Team match and all of the great Copa America fixtures to follow.

ODDS ANALYSIS

The Americans know the importance of these lead-up matches to Copa America, and they really don't have a choice but to try to go all-out here to get the three points. They won't be risking any injuries for sure, but they should be in fine shape when it comes to this match.

The Stars and Stripes will be favored by at least a full goal on the Asian Handicap, and it's entirely possible that margin will be significantly more when push comes to shove.

ROSTER ANALYSIS

The 40-man roster for Copa America has been announced, and there are a few key spots which are up for grabs for Klinsmann.

The net figures to be manned by Brad Guzan, though it will be interesting to see if Tim Howard gets some reps in these friendlies leading into Copa America or not.

At the back, there are 10 different players who have at least 18 Caps for the team. None of the nine are guaranteed a spot in the Starting XI as we see it for Copa America, but finding the right combination is going to be crucial.

Michael Bradley and Jermaine Jones figure to be stalwarts in the midfield, but the men to watch are Kyle Beckerman, Alejandro Bedoya, Fabian Johnson, Mix Diskerud and Graham Zusi. Of the five, three will earn starting spots at Copa America.

LIVE BETTING

This is the first time the Americans have been on the pitch since splitting with Guatemala in World Cup qualifying. This is a really important match knowing that the U.S. hasn't won an away match since last June against Germany. The Yanks drew with Trinidad & Tobago and lost to Guatemala, and they didn't score a goal in either fixture.

The Puerto Rican team isn't a particularly deep team, and the results have shown in recent years. They've only played six official matches against fellow countries since the start of 2015, and they're just 2-1-3 in those duels. None of those fixtures have come up against a team anywhere near this good. The most comparable match was a 3-0 loss at home against Canada last March.

QUICK PICK

Outside of the up and coming Joseph Marrero, who stars for Puerto Rico FC domestically, there really isn't a big threat here for the Americans to worry about.

We have to think that Klinsmann is going to be looking for his team to possess the ball quite a bit in this match and prove that it's the better side with ease. We think this is going to be a comparable match to when the Stars and Stripes took care of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines a St. Louis in November, a match in which five different players scored.

Because this one is on the road, we do think the score is going to be a little more modest, but a comfortable victory is sure to be the result here.
