It's been a magical year for Celta Vigo. The club pulled off one of the great upsets in Copa del Rey history by beating out Real Madrid a couple months ago, and now, it's in the semifinal of the Europa League. Manchester United knows that it needs to be careful about this match, particularly with all of the injuries it's had to endure of late.

This Europa League duel will go down Thursday, May 4, 2017, at 3:05 p.m. ET at Estadio Balaidos. The match will be televised live on FOX Sports 1.

Odds Analysis

The Red Devils probably would have been odds on to win this fixture a few weeks ago before Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marcos Rojo picked up serious injuries. Now, Luke Shaw has a big problem as well after coming off against Swansea City over the weekend, and his season figures to be said and done with.

With the injury report now known, it's no wonder why Celta Vigo is creeping closer to being the bettors' choice here at home. The Spanish side is +194 on the moneyline, just short of the +163 of Manchester United.

The total of 2.5 is a bit deceiving since the vig on the under is set at -160. This one will almost certainly go off with a total of a flat 2.

How They Got Here

Manchester United has never been a club interested in the Europa League, and though this year wasn't an exception at the beginning, it's starting to become more and more clear that winning this tourney is the only path into the Champions League next season now that the Manchester Derby was punted over the weekend with a draw.

The Red Devils were second best in Group A, finishing with a shocking two losses out of the six group stage matches. That was enough to advance though, and they ultimately took care of Saint-Etienne, Rostov and Anderlecht to get into the semis. There's been some caution for sure, though. Amazingly, Man U didn't beat Anderlecht at home in 90 minutes when it had the opportunity to put it away, and the fact that it needed Marcus Rashford to score in extra time to put the affair down once and for all was stunning.

Celta Vigo finished with just nine points in the group stage of the Europa League, but that was good enough to finish second and advance. The draw has been favorable for sure, as this team ran up against Shakhtar Donetsk, Krasnodar and Genk to get to this point, but winning those fixtures wasn't easy for sure.

Iago Aspas has made a real name for himself this year. He's got five goals in 10 fixtures here in this competition, and he might actually end up being the best offensive threat on the pitch here at home for Celta Vigo.

Mourinho though, has a goal here, and that's to get back to Manchester unscathed. We've seen the Red Devils turn it on when they really have to, and though they've been in poor form relatively speaking in England with all of those draws, this is going to be an opportunity to take a page out of the old Mou playbook and just try to salt these 90 minutes away.

The total isn't lying. Goals are going to be at a premium. Maybe there's one or two strikes in this game, but the general trend is going to be negative as we see it. United should just look to kill this off and would be satisfied with a scoreless draw.

Europa League Odds: Celta Vigo 0, Manchester United 0
