Soccer Odds - Brazil vs. Haiti Match Preview

Brazil-vs.-Haiti-Picks6

To say that the first weekend of Copa America didn't go well for Brazil would be an understatement. The team was lucky to get out of that first match with Ecuador with a point, and the embattled Dunga was booed off of the pitch in Pasadena. Now, the Brazilians have to travel clear across the country for a Wednesday night showdown in Orlando against a Haiti team which was incredibly unlucky not to steal a point from Peru in the opener.

ODDS ANALYSIS

The Brazilians were odds-on favorites against Ecuador in the opening match in Group B, and they're going to be favored by a massive margin against Haiti in the second fixture. All of a sudden with just one point from that opener, this one becomes a must-win, or that last match against Peru could end up being quite intense.

Don't be surprised if this spread is as high as two goals, and if that's the case, Brazil will be favored by a massive -500 or greater moneyline price.

TOURNAMENT UPDATE

Poor Haiti. Kervens Belfort was behind the Peruvian defense in the final minute of stoppage time, and all he had to do was make contact with the ball anywhere on target, and the Haitians would've walked out of Seattle with a draw and a fighting chance to move on to the quarterfinals of Copa America.

Instead, Belfort's effort drifted wide, and he was left crying on the pitch at CenturyLink Field. Haiti was game for 90+ minutes against a good Peru side which could make some noise the rest of the way, but it just couldn't get that one moment of brilliance is so badly needed to pull off a great escape.

Brazil meanwhile, was just flat out bad against Ecuador. There were some moments where this team looked the part of one of the best in the world, but the chances were relatively level on both sides, yet no one was able to finish. Immediately, Dunga is seeing the problem with not having Neymar as a finisher up front, as no one was able to put a ball in the back of the net against the Ecuadorians on Saturday night.

LIVE BETTING

The real question we have for Haiti in this match is whether it's going to be able to follow the ball around against the Brazilians. Brazil held 70 percent of the possession against Ecuador and completed over 80 percent of its passes, and if that's what happens again in this match, the code will inevitably be cracked at some point on the Haitian defense.

Haiti really tired out defensively against Peru and had far too many moments in the second half in which it was out of position from a marking perspective. Make that mistake against Peru, and you can stay in a game. Make that mistake too many times against Brazil, and you're asking for trouble.

QUICK PICK

It's not like Brazil isn't capable of scoring and scoring in bunches. Hulk, Willian, Jonas and Philippe Coutinho can all put the ball in the back of the net for sure. It's just that none of these players really looked all that dangerous in the final third throughout in that first match.

Dunga will realize that his side is incredibly lucky that Miller Bolanos' goal in the second half was incorrectly disallowed, but it'll look significantly better in this match against an overmatched Haitian side. With Duckens Nazon not playing well against Peru and his replacement, Belfort clearly now with a lot on his mind, goals are going to be impossible to come by. We think we'll see a vintage Brazil performance against a bad team on Saturday to at least ease some of the pressure on Dunga.
