NHL March 2 Parlay Picks

Although betting NHL parlays isn’t as popular as betting NBA parlays, the money all spends the same if you win. In fact, since it’s a smaller market without as much attention paid to it, most people will find betting on NHL parlays more profitable than similar bets in the NBA or the NFL. That’s something to have in the back of your mind when you are considering which big league to follow and understand.

NHL Parlay Picks for Thursday, March 2, 2023

Tampa Bay Lightning -1.5 vs. Pittsburgh Penguins

Minnesota Wild ML vs. Vancouver Canucks

Julien BriseBois continues to try and extend the window for the Tampa Bay Lightning at the expense of the future. The Lightning have dealt their first five picks in the 2023 NHL Draft, their 1st round pick, 2nd round pick, and fourth round pick in the 2024 NHL Draft, and their 1st round pick in the 2025 NHL Draft. Moves like this have helped Tampa Bay win back-to-back Stanley Cups, and the Lightning are once again one of the favorites to win the Stanley Cup this year after acquiring Tanner Jeannot from the Nashville Predators on Sunday.

The Pittsburgh Penguins waylaid the Lightning on the ice in the Steel City that same day. Pittsburgh crushed Tampa Bay 7-3 thanks to seven second period goals. Those tallies were all very much a team effort as no player on Pittsburgh finished with more than two points. However, it wasn’t the No. 1 goaltender that the Penguins beat but instead backup Brian Elliott. Andrei Vasilevskiy is the best big game goaltender in the NHL, and he has been great at home with a 17-4 record with a .922 save percentage. Vasilevskiy will blunt the Pittsburgh attack as the Lightning beat the Penguins by at least two goals.

The Minnesota Wild are the other team to bet on this Thursday. Minnesota is right in the middle of the crowded playoff picture in the Western Conference, while the Vancouver Canucks are out of contention. Vancouver was the first team to officially throw in the towel on the season when they traded Bo Horvat to the New York Islanders for not much of a return, and now J.T. Miller is considered week-to-week with an unspecified lower body injury.

Incredibly, just six months after signing Miller to a seven-year, $56 million deal, Miller might be on the trading block as the Canucks completely overhaul the lineup. That turn of events is going to have an adverse impact on the team’s psychology, and it could lead to players on Vancouver deciding to throw in the towel too given the lack of loyalty on high.

Minnesota isn’t great on the road with a 13-11-4 away record. However, the Wild are already 2-0 against the Canucks this year, and they hammered their opponent in Vancouver two months ago. Vancouver failed to score in a 3-0 loss to Minnesota at home, and the Canucks are even less explosive on offense without either Miller or Horvat. Only two other players for Vancouver have mor than 13 goals.
