The Masters Golf Props

A tradition unlike any other is the increased betting markets at every sportsbook when golf’s major season rolls around. And The Masters is the biggest of them all with a Super Bowl-like prop menu. Just adding to the excitement is that this year’s edition will have the best golfers in the game with 18 players from the LIV Golf League competing. And despite everyone saying things will be civil around Augusta National, you know there are deep-seated emotions on both sides only sparking the play on the course.

The betting markets run deep this week with 88 of the world’s best ready to attack iconic Augusta National Golf Club. There are, of course, the standard pick-the-winner and round-by-round matchup bets, but the majors unleash a host of additional wagering opportunities. If you’re looking for some side action, BookMaker is the right place. Let’s take a look at some of the prop bet options and find out where you can make additional coin while wagering on the 2023 Masters.

Making things even more special is having five-time Masters champ Tiger Woods in the field. Making his first start since the Genesis in February and only his second of the season, Woods remains a huge attraction and brings a massive haul to sportsbooks even forcing them to have their own Tiger Woods prop menu.

Even at 85/1, betting on Woods in the outright market is a stretch. You can always check out the props for better value on the Big Cat. Extended time off does affect players and Tiger is no different. You can’t mimic live rounds so if fatigue sets in it’s more likely to happen later in the tournament so backing Woods in early round props is the way to go. Woods was tied for 10th after 18 holes last year with a good return on a similar result.

Will there be a Hole-in-One

One of the most popular props out there is the hole-in-one with odds in favor of it happening at some point this week. We’ve seen a total of 34 aces at Augusta during the history of the Masters and it’s happened at least once in six of the last seven editions. Stewart Cink had the lone hole-in-one last year at the popular 16th hole, which has yielded the most aces. You can wager on whether or not there will be an ace, drop a few bucks on a specific player or make a bet on the hole most likely to yield a hole-in-one. If it’s going to happen it’ll likely take place on the 16th, which has yielded 24 holes-in-one, including Cink’s. Jeff Sluman in 1992 is the only player to hole out at No. 4, which is why the odds are long for that hole to give up an ace. With more than half of the tournament aces coming since 2003 the odds favor it happening again.

Will any LIV Golf Player win the 2023 Masters?

Yes +456

No -700

This is one prop we’re seeing for the first time. While PGA Tour execs and certain players don’t want to see it happen, there’s always a chance with 18 players from the rival league competing, including a handful of players with a major championship already on their resume. Most recently we saw Cameron Smith win the 2022 Open Championship in addition to Dustin Johnson (2020), Patrick Reed (2018) and Sergio Garcia (2017) winning at Augusta. And don’t forget Brooks Koepka, who won consecutive titles in two majors simultaneously. Koepka also became the first two-time winner in the LIV Golf League with a triumph in Orlando last week. I think it would be fun to win the YES bet to see the reaction of PGA Tour bigwigs who wanted LIV players banned in the first place. And the payout wouldn’t be too shabby either

Winning Score at 2023 Masters

Over 276.5 ( -120 )

Under 276.5 ( -110 )

Another popular bet that has nothing to do with a specific player and keeps bettors engaged throughout the tournament is the winning 72-hole score. The number dropped a shot from where it was last year and the over still won with Scheffler’s 278 the winner. Over the previous 11 editions the winner scored above 277 seven times. Also keep in mind that Augusta National is a beast with additional yardage tacked on making one of the easiest scoring holes more difficult and even on a good day the pros have a hard time. The previous two winners each carded 278 and I’m ready to back the OVER again.
