NFL Week 9 Ugly Dog Picks - Bet on Football

NFL Week 8 Ugly Dog Picks

Some of the best bets in the NFL each week are oftentimes wagers on teams that are considered the worst in the league. If you want to win money betting NFL games then you need to be willing to take teams no one else wants to bet. We refer to these teams as ugly dogs and you really have to hold your nose sometimes when you bet on them, but history has shown that going against the public works. It has been a really tough start this season but last week may have been a turning point. If you waited until Sunday, as the odds continued to go higher, then you went 3-2-1 against the spread. Let’s take a look at the Week 9 Ugly Dog Picks.

Week 9 Ugly Dog Picks

Let me point out one fact that you are probably already aware of. When you bet these games, you are usually better off waiting until Sunday morning to make your wagers because you will probably get a better number than what I list from earlier in the week.

New York Jets +10.5 at Indianapolis Colts

The Jets were big underdogs last week at home to Cincinnati and they not only delivered a pointspread win, but a straight up win. Mike White proved to be a much better quarterback than anyone else the Jets have used under center recently, so the injury to Zach Wilson may not be bad news for New York. Head coach Robert Saleh has said that the team will deal with the quarterback situation when Wilson gets healthy, but for right now the job is White’s. The Jets are still not getting any love from the oddsmakers, as they are big road underdogs at Indianapolis. The Colts had their chance last week to get back into the AFC South race but they couldn’t come up with a win over Tennessee. A letdown is definitely possible for the Colts after that loss, but the Jets could also have a letdown after their upset win over the Bengals. We’ll take the Jets as an ugly dog on Thursday night.

Jacksonville Jaguars +14.5 vs. Buffalo Bills

The Jaguars are 1-6 and still look like one of the worst teams in the NFL. They are poorly coached as Urban Meyer is not qualified to be an NFL head coach; Trevor Lawrence doesn’t look like a franchise quarterback and now the team could be without their top offensive threat in running back James Robinson who is questionable. The Jaguars don’t look to be much of a threat to the Bills and the oddsmakers are giving Jacksonville no real chance, as they are getting more than two touchdowns at home. The Bills shouldn’t have any trouble against the Jaguars, as Buffalo features a potent offense and a good defense. There is no reason to like Jacksonville in this game, even at home, and there is no question they are an ugly dog. We’ll take the Jaguars plus the points.
