The first battle pairing of the night came from Team Adam: Laith Al-Saadi and Matt Tedder. Despite a notable age difference, both Al-Saadi and Tedder are seasoned performers, and in their first rehearsal of “Honky Tonk Women” with team adviser Tori Kellyand Levine, it became very clear that this was going to be a tight battle - the battle of the week, in fact.

Al-Saadi and Tedder are also both strong guitar players, but this IS "The Voice." In their final battle, Al-Saadi and Tedder put on a great show. Levine picked Al-Saadi as the winner, and Tedder went home.

Over at Team Pharrell, Caity Peters defeated Joe Vivona on Billy Joel’s timeless “Honesty,” which they rehearsed with team adviser Sean "Diddy" Combs. All eyes were on Aguilera, as a steal could be in play if she so chose. “I only have one steal left, so I’m being very picky right now,” Aguilera said of her decision not to save Vivona.

As for the last battle of the season: This saw Team Blake’s Brittany Kennell paired with Trey O’Dell. Shelton gave them Fleetwood Mac's “The Chain.” In their rehearsals, team adviser (and Shelton girlfriend) Gwen Stefaniencouraged Kennell to really dig into the lyrics and figure out what the song means to her, because she was bringing too sweet of a vibe to the song. O’Dell already showed a lot of improvement in their final rehearsal, and then in their battle performance, both artists came to life. They sang to each other and had a real connection, while still maintaining a connection with the audience through their performance. Kennell finally found the emotions of the song, and it showed in her energy. The artists left Shelton with a difficult decision.

Blake went with Brittany Kennell. Christina gave her precious final steal to Trey, saying that he “deserves to have a new shot.” I don't necessarily disagree.

Getting the dreaded montage treatment: country singer Peyton Parker and indie singer Gina Castanzo, with Blake moving Peyton forward; music student Ayanna Jahnee and season 9 reject Joe Maye, with Christina picking Joe; and rockabilly singer John Gilman, the final New Jersey performer of the battles, losing to folkie Owen Danoff for a spot on Adam's team.

Team Adam: Brian Nhira, Caroline Burns, Laith Al-Saadi, Katherine Ho, Nate Butler, Jessica Crosbie, Ryan Quinn, and Owen Danoff

Team Pharrell: Caity Peters, Nick Hagelin, Abby Celso, Joe Vivona, Emily Keener, Hannah Huston, Moushumi, Shalyah Fearing, and Malik Heard

Team Christina: Trey O’Dell, Bryan Bautista, Alisan Porter, Kata Hay, Támar Davis, Daniel Passino, Joe Maye, and Maya Smith

Team Blake: Lacy Mandigo, Paxton Ingram, Mary Sarah, Adam Wakefield, Angie Keilhauer, Brittany Kennell, Peyton Parker, and Katie Basden

The Knockout Round begins next week, and Miley Cyrushas been tapped to be the key adviser for the season.
