2015-MasterChef-Junior-Betting-Spreads

With all the kiddies home for the holidays, and television in full-on rerun mode, let's seize that moment to look at all of the contenders and, in particular, the one episode already where some of the front-runners got to do their thing. And don’t forget to cash in on the MasterChef Junior odds at BookMaker.eu

Kya, 8, San Marino, CA
Pan-Seared Chicken Breast with Mashed Potatoes, Green Beans, and Carrots
The kid is adorable, and it is difficult not to get tripped up by that. When Kya’s chicken went up in flames and Gordon had her stand back so he could take care of it — it veered dangerously close to "America's Funniest Home Videos" territory. Despite this, Kya’s dish was a triumph. She missed the mushrooms and turnips, but nailed the sweetness of the honey glaze. Most importantly, every element on Kya’s dish tasted great.

Corey, 12, Surprise, AZ
Baked Chicken with Mashed Potatoes, Green Beans, and Mushrooms
Although the...well, older...Corey did have many of the elements of Gordon’s dish on his plate, he was missing quite a few as well: There was no sauce, no almonds in his green beans, and no turnips. It might not have been the standout dish between the four kids, but according to Graham, it was still a delicious effort, and that's all that really matters.

Ian, 8, Beverly Shores, IN
Pan-Roasted Chicken with Mashed Potatoes, Tomatoes, and Roasted Parsnips
Ian made it to the final four in this particular challenge, but just barely. What earned Ian a spot in the Top 4 was his ability to discern that there was in fact a root vegetable within the dish. Sure, he chose parsnips instead of turnips, but no one else even made it that far. Also, bonus points for the dish tasting so good. But Ian's days were numbered.

Kaitlyn, 11, Yorktown Heights, NY
Pan-Seared Chicken with Green Beans and Mashed Potatoes
After a spill in the kitchen, Kaitlyn was left with only three green beans to present as a side, but Gordon said that was okay – that makes one for each judge!

Later came a restaurant service challenge, covered here on BookMaker last week.

Kya continued to shine, shouting things like “I believe in you!” at her teammates, as they raced to plate 31 dishes.

The judges, however, noticed another leader on the team: Sam. He was being extra vocal as the chefs prepped, too.

Another stand out on the Red Team is Avery, who, seeing Ian struggle with a salad, pretty much demanded he let her help him.

On the flipside, front-runner Kaitlyn showed that working under pressure isn't a strong suit. It was the calm voice of Addison who kept things moving for their team. Will these trends continue?
