DWTS-Oct30

Monday’s episode was loaded with spooky solos, plus it boasted what many are calling one of the all-time best team dances of the series, a send-up ofThe Nightmare Before Christmas, all just in time for Halloween.

Bindi Irwin and Derek Hough: 28 + 30/30 = 58/60 Bindi hit a few snags pulling off her “queen of the vampires” character. Even so, Irwin did well enough with the moves that her pro partner, Derek Hough, copped to feeling uneasy, due in large part to her age (she's 17). Still, they earned perfect 10s across the board. (Dancing to the 80's classic "Lost Boys" movie theme no less, which earned them extra points with me!)

Andy Grammer and Allison Holker: 30 + 26/30 = 56/60 Marilyn Manson coupled with the paso doble? I'm in! Sure, Bruno pointed out some major flaws in Andy’s technique, but the others believed Andy must have been making those “weird lines on purpose.” I think so too.

Carlos PenaVega and Witney Carson: 28 + 28/30 = 56/60 Carlos felt the judges over-scored him last week, and said as much. He also asked Witney to ease up on their hard and fast paso doble choreography. But he did totally sell the dance’s final moment.

Alexa PenaVega and Mark Ballas: 28 + 27/30 = 55/60 Alexa spent this week in frustrated tears during practice. Not to worry: Mark - strong partner that he is - was more than happy to step up and take matters into his own "Scissorhands."

Tamar Braxton and Valentin Chmerkovskiy: 30 + 24/30 = 54/60 “I finally feel like she’s there,” Val said of his partner, “for the first time in seven weeks.” Tamar then announced (jokingly - we think) that she’s the best dancer remaining in the competition. The judges appreciated her confidence, but wouldn’t budge on the pair’s consistent lack of connection after a foxtrot set to the Doors’ “People Are Strange”.

Nick Carter and Sharna Burgess: 30 + 24/30 = 54/60 Backstreet Boy Carter continued to "bring it," this time around gussied up seemingly as a cross between Frankenstein's monster and Jack Skellington, and despite the fact that he believes being a Backstreet Boy constantly costs him street cred. Their Argentine tango was another monster hit.

Alek Skarlatos and Lindsay Arnold: 28 + 25/30 = 53/60 Slowly but surely, Alek got there this week, digging deep to pull off the Viennese waltz to the best of his ability.
