Peter Quillin’s Money Line Vs Michael Zerafa Sept 12 NBC Fight Is Ludicrous

Peter-Quillin-vs.-Michael-Zerafa-Sept8

We’re used to squash matches in the world of boxing, but even this one’s kind of ridiculous. Former champion “Kid Chocolate” Peter Quillin – 31-0-1, 22 KOs – will face a guy nobody’s ever heard of on NBC. Just for the record, the challenger’s name is Michael Zerafa – 17-1, 9 KOs. Oddsmakers are having a field day with the money lines.

CURRENT ODDS

Our online boxing odds currently have Quillin as a -10000 favorite. So you’ll have to bet $10,000 to make $100. Zerafa is a 25-to-1 underdog with a +2500 money line. The total on rounds for this bout is likely to be set around 7.5 rounds, with the under going into chalk territory. Make sure to check in on fight night for the latest prop bets, such as what round the fight will end. And when the fight starts, live betting is also available.

ANYONE INTERESTED? ANYONE?

Quillin will fight for the first time since April 11, when he fought to a draw against champion Andy Lee in grueling fight that saw both men hit the mat. Since Quillin failed to make weight for the fight, he was not eligible to win the 160-pound title regardless.

“I’m ready and excited to return the ring on NBC on September 12,” Quillin said. “I’m already deep into training camp and preparing to be in the best shape of my career. I know my opponent is dangerous, and he’s coming to make a name for himself. I’m at the top of my game, and I plan to stay there.”

Austrailian Zerafa is a 23-year old youngster that’s in way over his head. He’s only fought outside of his native country one other time, which resulted in his sole career loss against Russia’s Arif Magomedov in Moscow. Though he has to know that he’s being brought in as a glorified training partner, he’s doing his best to stay confident.

“I’m excited for this fight.” Zerafa said. “This is a great opportunity, and I’m looking forward to coming over there and putting on a show.”

In the co-feature, junior middleweight champion Cornelius “K9” Bundrage – 34-5, 19 KOs – will square off against mandatory challenger Jermall Charlo – 21-0, 16 KOs in a bout that was originally scheduled to take place July 18.

FIGHT ANALYSIS AND PREDICTION

The only reason Zerafa is here in the first place is because he poses so little danger. Quillin is preparing for a much tougher matchup against world titlist Daniel Jacobs. So this is the very definition of a stay-busy fight. The only question is how the fight will end, not who will win it.

Honestly, the -10000 money line for Quillin isn’t even worth it. Even if you use it as part of parlay, it won’t really do much. The under on rounds will likely be pretty expensive as well, but it’s a pretty much a lock too as long as oddsmakers don’t set it too low.
