Two world-class fighters in their primes will meet this Saturday, when four-division champion Adrien Broner and three-division world champion Mikey Garcia face off in Brooklyn. Both men are considered among the top fighters at 140 pounds, making this one of the more intriguing matchups this year before Canelo-GGG and Mayweather-McGregor in the fall.

Matchup Preview
This tilt is being hailed as one of “the best fights that nobody’s talking about.” I wholeheartedly agree with that assessment.
Garcia should be a star - he just doesn’t have the drawing power yet. At 29, he’s one of the most exciting fighters in the game. It’s unfortunate that he’s been so inactive the past couple years, because he always puts on a show when he steps into the ring.
In his last matchup against an undefeated Dejan Zlaticanin, Garcia torched the prospect and picked up a devastating KO win. He’s also performed well against guys like Orlando Salido, Juan Manuel Lopez and Roman “Rocky” Martinez. He’s much more than a knockout puncher - he’s got the skills to outclass his opponents.
Broner’s an extremely talented fighter as well, but he just can’t seem to get his personal life under control. In the past few years, he’s gotten fat between fights, been locked up, thrown money at homeless people and been found in a shot up van. Really, how focused is he on boxing?
Once touted as the next Floyd Mayweather, Broner has now suffered some bad losses. In 2013, he was knocked down twice by Marcos Maidana before losing a decision. In June 2015, he got outworked by Shawn Porter. We did see flashes of the raw talent that made him so intriguing, but he wasn’t in the best shape. Can he get it together against Garcia?
Boxing Betting Tips
As more than a 2-1 underdog, Broner is intriguing. But unless you’ve been following him around 24-7, it’s difficult to tell if his mind’s right for this matchup. Even if he is at his best, Broner is still fighting an uphill battle against the toughest opponent he’s faced yet. The pick is Garcia to win by decision.
