NBA Sunday, February 25, 2024 Parlay Picks

The NBA presents an 11-game slate with a double doubleheader to cap off the betting week on Sunday, February 25. Some key conference matchups are on tap for your NBA parlay with the Milwaukee Bucks visiting Philadelphia in an Eastern Conference tilt. Both clubs looking to end a recent slide that’s moved them down the standings. That tilt gets the afternoon started at 1 p.m. ET on ABC with the second game having the Lakers at Phoenix at 3:30 p.m. ET. The Bucks entered the All-Star break with just three wins in 10 games since Doc Rivers took over as head coach and Philly dropped nine of 12 games ahead of the break while dealing with the absence of MVP Joel Embiid.

Enough of the bad news let’s get to some squads that are tearing it up. The Dallas Mavericks won six in a row ahead of the break inching closer to a top-six in the Western Conference. Five of those wins were by double digits and they covered in each one. The Mavs aim to continue their surge in a matchup with Indiana. And speaking of making money the Orlando Magic have done plenty of that for their backers this season going 36-19 ATS for the best cover rate in the NBA at 65.5 percent. Orlando has gotten paid in all three meetings with the Hawks and concludes the season series in Atlanta on Sunday.

My NBA parlay before the All-Star break didn’t pan out with only two of my four picks hitting. It was Orlando that cost me in their 127-113 loss to OKC. So, it’s back to the drawing board as a I look for that elusive winning ticket. And I’m going back to the Magic since they’ve been so good against the NBA betting line all season. The Magic dropped two of their first three meetings to the Hawks but stayed within the spread to earn a payout both times.

Orlando exits the break just a half game out of the top six in the East with a hefty lead to at least reach the play-in tournament. There’s more at stake, however, and Orlando was hot before the hiatus winning six of eight games, including at West leading Minnesota as part of a three-game road streak in that stretch. We should see another close game, but Orlando’s recent offensive spurt gives them hope they can cover against the Hawks.

Milwaukee and Philly have been struggling and losing ground in the East race. Something has to give in this contest and with the Sixers’ Joel Embiid on the shelf I can see things going the way of Giannis and the Bucks. The Freak has had problems with Embiid in the past and without Philly’s big man offering resistance I can see Antetokounmpo putting up big numbers. And the Bucks will turn things around under Doc Rivers sometime, won’t they?

Shout out to the Hornets for putting their first three-game winning streak of the season together. And we saw them show defensive intensity against two of the better scoring clubs. But this matchup is tough for a team that lacks depth. The Hornets are playing their third game in four nights to conclude their road trip that started with a back-to-back against Utah and Golden State. Portland dropped six in a row ahead of the break losing twice to Denver and Minnesota, so the Blazers are feeling good about entertaining Charlotte.
