Dorticos last stepped into the ring on October 20, 2018, against Mateusz Masternak at the CFE Arena in Orlando, Florida. Dorticos scored a 12 round unanimous decision win. It was an important and necessary comeback win that followed the only loss of his career.

On February 3, 2018, Dorticos faced Murat Gassiev for the International Boxing Federation and World Boxing Association world super cruiserweight titles. The bout took place at the Bolshoy Ice Dome in Alder. Gassiev scored a 12 round unanimous decision win as Dorticos went down twice in the final round. As a result of that loss, Dorticos surrendered his WBA cruiserweight title belt.

Dorticos entered that unification title bout after a win over Dmitry Kudryashov on September 23, 2017. That bout was for the World Boxing Association World cruiserweight title. Dorticos scored a second-round technical knockout as Kudryashov went down in the second round. The bout took place at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas.

Dorticos originally won the World Boxing Association world cruiserweight title on May 20, 2016, against Youri Kayembre Kalenga in Paris. Dorticos scored a 10th round technical knockout win.

Last time in the ring for Andrew Tabiti was on October 13, 2018, when he faced Ruslan Fayfer at the Ekaterinburg Expo. Tabiti was victorious in a 12 round unanimous decision win.

Prior to that win over Fayfer, Tabiti faced Lateef Kayode on May 11, 2018, at Sam’s Town Hotel & Gambling Hall in Las Vegas. Tabiti scored a sixth-round knockout win in the matchup.
