Scott Quigg vs. Jono Carroll Betting

We will see some haymakers thrown this Saturday when Scott Quigg and Jono Carroll enter the ring. Unlike other fights where bad blood is largely manufactured, these two fighters generally seem to dislike one another. Carroll (17-1-1 with three knockouts) has been talking all sorts of smack, and he has repeatedly claimed that Quigg is mentally weak. That has riled the veteran Quigg (35-2-2 with 26 knockouts), and he is out to silence the young Irishman on Saturday, March 7. This fight will be broadcast on DAZN in the United States and Sky Sports in the United Kingdom.

When: Saturday, March 7, 2020

Where: Manchester Arena, Manchester, England

Why: Super Featherweight bout

Scott Quigg vs. Jono Carroll Betting Odds

There have yet to be boxing betting odds released for this bout, but Quigg is likely to be a slight favorite as he is a former champion and bigger name than the young Carroll.

To those unfamiliar with betting on boxing, if Quigg opens as a -140 favorite in this bout, you have to bet $140 on him to win $100 in profit. Those odds would probably lead to Carroll being a +120 underdog, so a $100 bet on him would return $120 in profit if he were to pull off the upset.

As the fight nears, there will be decision betting too. You will be able to bet on whether the fight is decided by KO, TKO, or decision, and you can bet on which boxer will win the fight in that fashion as well.

Scott Quigg vs. Jono Carroll Preview

Quigg is entering his 13th year as a professional boxer, and he has been one of the best lighter fighters in the world for much of that time. He ran his record to 19-0 before receiving a title shot, and then his third-round knockout of Santiago Allione with the WBA Inter-Continental title announced that he was ready for more.

That led to a bout with Jason Booth for the British bantamweight title in October 2011, and Quigg’s victory there led to a title shot. In his first chance to win a major title, he drew with Rendall Munroe due to an accidental head clash, but the won the title five months later in a sixth-round TKO victory over Munroe.

Quigg successfully defended the title five times, running his record to 31-0-2 with four knockout victories during his defenses before losing a split decision to Carl Frampton in February 2016. He won his next three fights to emerge as a contender once more, but a unanimous decision loss to Oscar Valdez has left Quigg on the periphery.

Jono Carroll turned pro in December 2012, and he began his career in Australia. After two easy wins to start his career, he moved back to the island, and he has largely fought in the United Kingdom since that point. He won his first 13 bouts before earning a title shot, and Carroll made the most of it by beating John Quigley in a split decision to win the IBF European junior lightweight title.

Carroll defended the title successfully twice, knocking out Humberto de Santiago and Declan Geraghty before suffering his first blemish. He drew with Guillaume Frenois, and then he lost his first major title shot against Tevin Farmer in Philadelphia last March. His victory over Eleazar Valenzuela earned him another bite at the apple though, and Carroll wants to make the most of it versus Quigg.
