World Boxing Association World Middleweight Title

Before Rob Brant became World Boxing Association world middleweight champion he began as one of the most accomplished amateur boxers in the United States. Brant began his amateur career in 2007 and had posted a national championship by 2009 as a member of the US National boxing team. In 2010 Brant won the National Golden Gloves title.

Brant turned pro in June of 2012 and wasted no time climbing the ranks. He caught national attention with a knockout win over Decarlo Perez three years ago in a fight that was a Showtime main event. With the win Brant was tabbed one of the top young up and coming contenders. Brant was hailed for his supreme skills as a boxer and his powerful punch which was labeled as “titanic.” Indeed, the win over Perez was a devastating display of raw boxing power.

Last summer Brant was moved from middleweight to super middleweight so that he could take part in the World Super Series of Boxing. Brant was the only American to take part in the event. Brant was quite proud to accept the assignment and challenge with his stated desire to represent the United States.

Rob Brant is 28 years old and a native of Saint Paul, Minnesota. He now resides in Dallas, Texas. He stands at six feet and a half inches tall with a reach of 70 and a half inches. Brant fights from an orthodox stance and is ranked 12th in the world.

In his last bout on October 20, 2018 Brant scored a unanimous decision win over Ryota Murata. The bout took place at Park Theater in Las Vegas and was for the World Boxing Association world middleweight title.

Prior to that Brant scored a first round knockout win over Colby Courter in Hinckley, Minnesota.

Khasan Baysangurov is a 21-year-old native of Russia that now resides in Kiev, Ukraine. Baysangurov is ranked 24th in the world and stands at six feet, one inch tall with an orthodox stance.

In his last bout on October 2, 2018, Baysangurov scored a 12 round unanimous decision win over Paul Valenzuela Jr. The fight took place at the Sport Palace in Kiev and was for the World Boxing Association inter-continental middleweight title.

Rob Brant vs. Khasan Baysangurov

This fight is a tall task and ask for Khasan Baysangurov. Brant is the far more proven and experienced champion with a record of excellence against better opponents and at a higher level. Perhaps Baysangurov will earn a title belt someday but not likely in this one.
