Jermall Charlo vs. Dennis Hogan Boxing Betting

Jermall Charlo will put his WBC Middleweight belt on the line on Pearl Harbor Day when he takes on Dennis Hogan in the Big Apple. This will be the fourth title defense for Charlo (29-0 with 21 knockouts) and his fourth fight at the Barclays Center since July 2017, so he will certainly be the fan favorite. Hogan (28-2-1 with seven knockouts) does not have an appealing style, but he has done an exceptional job winning the judges’ approval. The primary card for this title fight starts at 9 p.m. ET, and it will be broadcast on Showtime.

Charlo is a hefty favorite according to the boxing betting line ahead of this title fight. He has yet to lose in his long professional career, but he probably won’t be the biggest favorite on this card. That’s because Hogan nearly beat 34-0 Jaime Munguia back in March.

If youre not familiar with betting on boxing, these odds mean that you would have to bet $1204 on Charlo to win $100. That’s a lot to bet to win a Benjamin, so you can make a serious profit if you bet on Hogan. A $100 wager on the underdog returns $659.

As the fight nears, there will be decision betting too. You will be able to bet on whether the fight is decided by KO, TKO, or decision, and you can bet on which boxer will win the fight in that fashion as well.

Jermall Charlo vs. Dennis Hogan Preview

Charlo has been fantastic since he turned pro in August 2008. It took him some time to find his power though, and that meant he had to wait more than seven years until he received his first title shot. Charlo was 21-0 before squaring off against Cornelius Bundrage for the IBF Junior Middleweight title in September 2015, and he knocked out the reigning champion in three rounds to claim his first belt.

He defended the belt three times before facing Hugo Centeno Jr. at the Barclays Center for the WBC Middleweight title in April 2018. Charlo didn’t need to wait long to raise the belt above his ahead, knocking Centeno out in the second round to claim the strap. From there, he defended the strap against Matt Korobov and Brandon Adams to set up this bout.

Hogan won his first two bouts rather easily, but he received a blemish on his record in his third fight. He drew newcomer Edmund Eramiha to move to 2-0-1, and he needed to repeatedly prove himself after that. Hogan won his next 20 fights and claimed the USA Super Welterweight title to earn a shot at the WBA Super Welterweight strap against Jack Culcay four years ago. He lost that fight by unanimous decision.

After his first loss, he won his next six bouts to earn a shot at the undefeated Jaime Munguia. Hogan lost on the judges’ scorecards, but most observers were in agreement that he won the fight, making him a dangerous underdog for Charlo.
