Prior to that on May 4, 2019 Oquendo faced Lamont Roach at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. At stake was the World Boxing Organization International super featherweight title, and the World Boxing Organization NABO super featherweight title. Oquendo lost a 10 round unanimous decision.
