Bivol is 27 years old and stands at 6’ 1” while fighting from an orthodox stance. A native of Kyrgystan, Bivol now resides in Saint Petersburg, Russia.
Jean Pascal is ranked ninth in the world and has a career record of 33-5-1 with a total of 20 knockout wins and two knockout losses for his career. A native of Haiti, Pascal now resides in Laval, Quebec, Canada. Pascal is 36 years old and stands at 5’10” while fighting from an orthodox stance.
Dmitry Bivol last stepped into the ring on August 4, 2018 when he faced Isaac Chilemba for the World Boxing Association World Light Heavyweight title. The venue was the Mark G. Estes Arena, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Atlantic City, New Jersey, which is the same location is this upcoming bout between Bivol and Pascal. Bivol scored a 12 round unanimous decision win over Chilemba to maintain possession of his title belt.
Prior to that on March 3, 2018 Bivol faced Sullivan Barrera at Madison Square Garden Theater in New York for the World Boxing Association World Light Heavyweight title. The fight went all the way to the 12th and final round before Bivol prevailed with a technical knockout win.
Jean Pascal last fought on July 20, 2018 when he faced Steve Bosse at Place Bell in Laval, Pascal’s own back yard. And Pascal did score an eighth-round technical knockout win over Bosse.
Prior to that win over Bosse, Pascal faced Ahmed Elbiali on December 8, 2017 in a scheduled 10 round bout at the Hialeah Park Racing & Casino, Hialeah. The fight only lasted into the sixth round where Pascal scored a technical knockout win.
Before winning his last two bouts Pascal lost three of his previous five fights. On two occasions he faced Surgey Kovalev for the Unification World Light Heavyweight championship but was defeated in a majority decision and referee technical decision. Pascal is a past Light Heavyweight champion from 2009-2011.
