Demetrius Andrade vs. Luke Keeler Betting

Everyone’s attention will be on Miami the first weekend of February for the Super Bowl, but there are more festivities and sporting events happening in the lead-up to the Big Game too. One of the most anticipated events will be when Demetrius Andrade (28-0 with 17 knockouts) takes on Luke Keeler (17-2-1 with five knockouts) with the WBO Middleweight belt on the line. There has already been some chatter in the runup to this fight with Keeler claiming that Andrade hasn’t fought an elite boxer, and Andrade telling the media that he will “…give Luke Keeler a beating.”

When: Thursday, January 30th, 2020

Where: Meridian at Island Gardens, Miami, Florida

Why: WBO Middleweight Title

Demetrius Andrade vs. Luke Keeler Gamboa Betting Odds

There have yet to be boxing betting odds released for this bout, but Andrade will be a heavy favorite. Andrade is unbeaten with multiple titles to his credit, while Keeler has yet to leave the British Isles during his six-year career as a boxer.

To those unfamiliar with betting on boxing, if Andrade opens as a -2000 favorite in this bout, you would have to bet $2000 on Andrade to win $100 in profit. Those odds would probably lead to Keeler being a +900 underdog, so a $100 bet on the challenger would return $900 if Keeler were to shock the world.

As the fight nears, there will be decision betting too. You will be able to bet on whether the fight is decided by KO, TKO, or decision, and you can bet on which boxer will win the fight in that fashion as well.

Demetrius Andrade vs. Luke Keeler Preview

Andrade has been one of the best pound-for-pound boxers in the world for some time. He was crowned the United States national champion twice and won the Golden Gloves twice as an amateur, and he won the gold medal in the welterweight division at the 2007 World Championships.

That initial success led to Andrade turning pro at 20, and he has yet to taste defeat in 12 years as a professional fighter. Andrade won his first strap in November 2013 when he claimed the WBO Light Middleweight title in a split decision win over Vanes Martirosyan, and he defended that title successfully against Brian Rose before being stripped of the belt due to inactivity. He came back strong with a second round TKO of Dario Fabien Pucheta, and he won a split decision over Jack Culcay-Keth for the WBA Light Middleweight belt in March 2017.

After continuing to dominate that class, he moved up to middleweight, and he won a unanimous decision over Walter Kautondokwa in October 2018 to claim the WBO Middleweight belt. Andrade has since defended that title twice, beating Artur Akavov and Maciej Sulecki last year.

It’s a bit of the pot calling the kettle black with Keeler criticizing Andrade’s foes. Keeler was fighting in hotels just five years ago, and he lost two of his first 12 bouts. He fell twice to Tom Doran in that stretch, but he hasn’t lost in his last eight bouts.

In the last three years, Keeler has some nice wins to his name. He bested Lewis Taylor on points in February 2017, and he won a unanimous decision over Conrad Cummings for the WBO European Middleweight belt in April 2018. He defeated Cummings again before securing a win over Luis Arias in August, earning this title shot.
