Also known as “The Technician” Derevyanchenko stands at five feet, nine inches tall with a reach of 67.5 inches and fights from an orthodox stance. He is ranked number one as a contender by the IBF and number five by the WBC as a contender.

Daniel Jacobs is 31 years old and a native of Brownsville, New York. He also now resides in Brooklyn, New York. Jacobs is ranked third in the world and has a career record of 34-2 with a total of 29 knockout wins for his career. Jacobs also goes by “Miracle Man” and stands at five feet, 11.5 inches tall with an orthodox stance and a reach of 73 inches.

Jacobs last bout was on April 28, 2018 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn when he met Marciej Sulecki in a 12-round bout. Jacobs scored a unanimous decision win as Sulecki was knocked down in the 12th round. Jacobs has an inspiring story in which he recovered from a rare form of bone cancer known as osteosarcoma. He is celebrated for his exceptional punching power and overall complete boxing package.

Prior to that on November 11, 2017 Jacobs faced Luis Arias at the Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, New York. Jacobs scored a 12 round unanimous decision win.

Jacobs most memorable bout was the one loss of his career. He met Gennady Golovkin for the unification middleweight title at Madison Square Garden in New York on March 18, 2017 and lost a 12 round unanimous decision.

Derevyanchenko’s last bout was on March 3, 2018 when he faced Dashon Johnson at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. “The Technician” scored a Referee Technical Decision win over Johnson in the sixth round of a scheduled eight round bout.

Prior to that on August 25, 2017 Derevyanchenko faced Tureano Johnson in a scheduled 12 round bout at the Buffalo Run Casino in Miami. He was able to score a 12 round technical knockout win as Tureano went down in the 12th round.

Jacobs will enter this bout with the better resume and overall skills package. As a fight wears on the punching power of Jacobs tends to wear down opponents. Derevyanchenko has a respectable record but has simply not proven to be in the class of Jacobs, especially with so much at stake.
