NBA Betting odds: The Cleveland Cavaliers won their fewest regular season games since LeBron James decided to bring his talents from South Beach back to The Rock and Roll Capital of the World. Because of it, the reigning champs missed out on locking down home court advantage throughout the Eastern Conference Playoffs. The last time that happened was a couple years back when Cleveland fell to Golden State in the Finals. The Indiana Pacers dropped three of their four regular season meetings with the champs, and split the four games against the spread.

Hats off to the Pacers who needed to basically win out to qualify after dropping a 135-130 overtime decision at the Q with only five games remaining in the regular season. Paul George and his mates enter the postseason red hot for NBA bettors having covered six straight and seven of their last 10 with each of the last five coming in the favorite role. That’s something they won’t experience in this matchup with the Cavs going off the board favored in three of their four overall meetings. It doesn’t bode well that the only game they won against Cleveland occurred when LBJ took the night off.
The Cavaliers have made minced meat of their last two quarterfinals opponents sweeping Boston in 2015 and Detroit last season. They went 2-2 against the spread in the four home games and 3-1 against the spread on the road. Cleveland already has a 132-117 win at the Pacers with James in the lineup, but that was only the second cover and win in its last 10 trips to Bankers Life Fieldhouse. The Pacers won just 13 of their 41 played road games in the regular season, so if Cleveland can find a way to earn a road split, this series could end back at the Q in Game 5; if not sooner.
