NBA Betting odds: The Chicago Bulls locked their bid into the playoffs on the very last day when they throttled Brooklyn to finish the season an even 41-41 overall and 42-40 against the spread. The Boston Celtics also had much to play for in their regular season finale against Milwaukee whom they took care of business against to secure the Eastern Conference’s No. 1 seed. These teams split their four regular season meetings. Each played to low scorers and the home teams held serve both straight up and against the spread.
Chicago Bulls vs. Boston Celtics
Dates: Saturday, April 15 – Sunday, April 30, 2017
Chicago is one of the better rebounding teams in the league. Boston most definitely is not. The Celtics also aren’t the greatest shooting team either with it right around league average in field goal percentage and from beyond the arc. If the Bulls are to find a way to pull the 1/8 shocker, they’re going to have to make the most of their advantage on the glass and limit Boston’s second and third scoring chances. Robin Lopez and Jimmy Butler must find a way to better Al Horford and Jae Crowder. If not, this series could be quick.
Though the Celtics secured the better overall record in the regular season, they’re not the favorite to come out of the East. The defending champion Cavaliers are the favored side. That won’t sit well with Boston, but this is a franchise that has much to prove after being bounced in the quarterfinals in each of its last three playoff appearances. So long as they don’t get murdered on the glass, they should outshine Chicago at both ends of the court and punch their ticket into the conference semis for the first time since 2013.
