Givemeaminit Preakness Stakes Betting OddsTriple Crown Betting Online: The field for the Preakness Stakes is in flux and Givemeaminit will likely be filler if he runs in what looks like will be a small field. After a second-place finish in his debut, Givemeaminit took third at the Grade 1 Hopeful Stakes at Saratoga. He went unplaced in his next three races with each at a mile and 1/16th. Returning to a six-furlong stretch, the bay colt took second at the Louisiana Futurity before finally breaking into the win column at Fair Ground in January. Givemeaminit ran in the Kentucky Derby undercard, taking third in the slop at the Pat Day Mile.

The Preakness Stakes will be run on Saturday, May 19, 2018 with post time set for 6:20 p.m. ET at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore. Catch the Preakness Stakes live on NBC.

Preakness Stakes Odds at BookMaker.eu: +5000

If he runs, Givemeaminit will be a longshot to win the Preakness Stakes with opening odds at +5000. But we’ve seen trainer Dallas Stewart in this position before, so you can’t count him out. Back in 2015, Tale of Verve ran second to American Pharoah at the Preakness as a 28-1 post time longshot. He lost by about seven lengths, but it was still an upset from the horse oddsmakers had as the least likely to win the race. Givemeaminit also has Hall of Fame jockey Javier Castellano as his regular rider.

Why Givemeaminit Will Win the Preakness Stakes

Given his pedigree and Stewart’s decision to run him in several different Grade 1 races, Givemeaminit has been competitive against some elite horses. He took third at the Hopeful Stakes behind Sporting Chance and Free Drop Billy.

Going off as a 60-1 longshot at the Breeders Cup Juvenile last November and running with the best two-year-olds, Givemeaminit took fourth with a late rally. It wasn’t enough to catch winner and Kentucky Derby runner-up Good Magic or highly touted Solomini and Bold d’Oro, who finished second and third respectively. He’s held his own against some of the best and anything can happen when the bell rings at the Preakness.

Why Givemeaminit Won't Win the Preakness Stakes

We may have seen the best of Givemeaminit in his other races and it just hasn’t been good enough to overtake some of the other colts. He’s consistently finished behind some of the horses he’d be going against in the Preakness if he runs, losing to Sporting Chance, Bravazo, Good Magic and Free Drop Billy. And his best finishes have been in races under a mile in length, so the Preakness is probably out of his league.

The Final Verdict

Running in the slop at Churchill Downs on Derby Day, Givemeaminit took third in the Pat Day Mile and he might have a chance on a wet course. But otherwise he’s situated perfectly on the odds board. There will be other longshots that are more worthy of taking a wager and even in a small field, Givemeaminit is unlikely to place.
