The second week of the NA LCS Spring Split kicks off on Saturday, and Team Liquid is looking to continue its dominance. Liquid won both split titles last year, and they are the odds-on favorites to win yet again this season. They looked every part the team to beat last weekend, beating both Cloud9 and Counter Logic Gaming to start off 2-0. However, they had some issues in the early game, and teams will be looking to punish that this week.

Golden Guardians +277
Golden Guardians might be the worst team in the league, but should they be this much of an underdog against another team that is 0-2? Although many thought that 100 Thieves were the biggest threat to Liquid this year, I haven’t been a believer. Bang has performed very well since coming over from Korea, but top laner Ssumday and jungler Anda both struggled last week. Anda was unable to get ahead in the early game despite taking two champions that thrive in the early game, and Ssumday’s Urgot play wasn’t great. I’ll take my chances with Golden Guardians at this price.

Echo Fox +105
Speaking of Korean imports, I may have been wrong on Crown. I believed that Crown would have a tough time in North America after an underwhelming 2018 in Korea, but he looked sharp in his first week with Optic Gaming. Crown carried the team to a victory over Counter Logic Gaming with a big Lissandra game, and he will look to do the same here.
Crown will need to come up big here. He is going against a mid laner that he can dominate in Fenix, and he must win his lane because OpTic’s bottom lane is nothing to write home about. I think this is a coin-flip game, so I’ll go with Echo Fox who have a better bottom lane in Apollo and Hakuho.
Team Liquid -290
Clutch Gaming +230
I don’t believe Liquid are the dominant force of nature that others do, but I like them at this price against Clutch Gaming. Clutch is off to a 2-0 start, but I don’t expect Damonte to continue to play like a deity in the mid lane for much longer. Jensen should get the better of him there, but the bottom lane is where things will be really spicy.
Liquid’s bottom lane of Doublelift and CoreJJ should have their way with Clutch here. Piglet and Vulcan played surprisingly well in the first week of action, but I don’t see that continuing into the second week.
Team SoloMid -203
FlyQuest +165
Once again, Team SoloMid are big favorites when they shouldn’t be. TSM did look impressive against 100 Thieves last week, but they were dunked on by Clutch. There are still major questions regarding Akkadian in the jungle and Broken Blade in the top lane, and those will need to be answered.
Until then, I’m likely to fade TSM at these prices. FlyQuest has a great utility mid laner in Pobelter and an AD Carry that will be particularly focused for this game in WildTurtle. Santorin has been performing well out of the jungle, and that will give FlyQuest a win.
Cloud9 -330
Counter Logic Gaming +260
It’s sad to see what has happened to once proud Counter Logic Gaming. Darshan, Stixxay, and Biofrost no longer seem to be elite level talents, and the only player you can rely on is new acquisition PowerOfEvil in the mid lane. POE was responsible for 43.7 percent of his team’s damage in the first week of action, as he surprised opponents on off-meta picks Xerath and Orianna.
Although POE is likely to have a couple highlight reel moments, Cloud9 will win this match. C9 are much stronger across the board, and they have a coach that will have a few surprises of his own in store.
