Fans of League of Legends from around the world were disappointed when it was announced there would be no Mid-Season Invitational, but the Mid-Season Cup is the next best thing. Four teams from China’s LPL will square off against four teams from Korea’s LCK for regional bragging rights in a four-day affair that will be jam packed with action. You can’t afford a bad game if you want to advance to the next round, so the pressure will be on all the teams involved in this competition.
T1 -144
FunPlus Phoenix +112
This clash between world champions is one of the most anticipated of the tournament. FunPlus Phoenix won the 2019 World Championship by knocking off the best teams Europe had to offer in addition to 2018 World Champions Invictus Gaming, but T1 has fell short of expectations since winning their third title in 2016. FPX were a little disappointing during the LPL regular season, but this is a great chance to bet the world champions. Khan would relish the opportunity to show that he is still a top laner to be feared.

DAMWON Gaming +168
People are dismissing DAMWON Gaming, but they have two of the most talented laners in the world in Nuguri and ShowMaker. ShowMaker has preternatural talent and recently rose to the top of Korean solo queue despite not playing a single champion more than once, while Nuguri embodies the up and down nature of this team. When he is on, Nuguri is the most feared top laner in Korea, but when he is off, DAMWON struggle mightily.

DAMWON Gaming +172
Everyone will be excited to see ShowMaker take on Faker in the mid lane in this match between LCK rivals, but the more interesting matchup will be in the bottom lane. Ghost replaced Nuclear as DAMWON’s AD Carry at the tail end of last season, and he prove that he can take a mage into the bottom lane with his Syndra play and shined on Kog’Maw in the postseason. However, he will be hard pressed to topple T1’s Teddy, as the former Jin Air Green Wings legend has been superb for over a year.

FunPlus Phoenix -110
The LPL runner-up is a slight favorite in this Esports match, but FunPlus Phoenix is the better team. Top Esports had a magical run through the postseason led by late-season addition JackeyLove, yet there is a reason that Invictus Gaming did not re-sign him after last season. JackeyLove was known for his inconsistency, so it’s hard to imagine him having a standout tournament after he was fantastic throughout the LPL playoffs.
FunPlus Phoenix -200
DAMWON Gaming +158
This will be a difficult match for DAMWON Gaming. FPX are known for their ability to punish aggressive teams, and they can either play to bait DAMWON or match them in their aggressiveness. Doinb loves to roam in the mid lane in order to give his teammates advantages in their matchups, and DAMWON has struggled with teams that do that in the past. FPX can also counter Nuguri’s trademark aggression in the top lane, and they should end this match in under 30 minutes.
T1 -140
Top Esports +108
The continued love for T1 is a little perplexing given their struggles on the international stage over the last three years. The three-time world champions have underwhelmed at the biggest moments, and they have had particular trouble with Chinese teams. Top is probably the least talented LPL team at this event, but they have a fantastic mid laner in Knight that has the potential to outclass Faker.
