League of Legends LEC Europe Spring 2019

Can the reigning Kings of Europe finally get their first win of the season? That’s the big question entering the third week of the rebranded LEC this weekend. Fnatic was the best team in Europe for all of 2018. They won the Spring Split and the Summer Split, and they outlasted G2 at Worlds by making it all the way to the finals. However, they have fallen on hard times without mid laner Caps, and they are 0-4 coming into this week. That puts them in a tie with Rogue for last place, and they will be squaring off against Rogue on Friday to see which team will get into the win column first.

League of Legends LEC Europe Spring 2019 Week 3 Betting Odds

G2 -425

SK Gaming +325

At the beginning of the split, I said that G2 should have been the odds-on favorite to win. I’m feeling pretty good about that pick right now, as G2 have been the most impressive team in Europe and are 4-0 through the first two weeks of the season. Even though they really struggled with Excel last week, they showed exactly why they had to be considered the favorites. Caps is the best player in Europe, and he put the team on his back and led them to victory with some incredible plays from Akali.

With Perkz coming into his own as a bottom laner, I’m going to lay the chalk with G2. SK gaming have been more impressive than I thought they would be, but G2 are in another class.

FC Schalke 04 -150

Splyce +125

The rumors of Schalke’s demise have been greatly exaggerated. Even though the team lost star mid laner Nukeduck and most of their other starters from last year, they still have Upset and that makes them dangerous. Upset is proving that he is one of the top AD Carries in the region, and he absolutely smashed Rekkles in the laning phase last week. He has an 8.8 KDA, and his play has been the reason why Schalke are 3-1 with their lone loss coming to G2.

Splyce has played very well so far, and this team is 3-1 too. Xerxe has continued to perform very well out of the jungle, and Kobbe is a veteran that won’t get smashed in lane. That’s why I’m going to take a chance with Splyce here.

Fnatic -225

Rogue +185

Okay, enough is enough. This is Fnatic we are talking about. Fnatic have four of their five starters from last year back, and it’s time for them to make their mark. I am expecting them to be very aggressive early in this one, with Nemesis being particularly active in the mid lane. He has been way too passive in recent weeks, and he will have been told to be more active in the early game by the coaches in scrimmages all week.

Misfits -340

Excel Esports +270

Misfits aren’t quite a super team, but they are certainly the second-best team in Europe. They may have dropped a match to Vitality last week, yet they have showed us a lot of potential. Hans sama and Gorilla in the bottom lane is a deadly combination, and Febiven is back to give everyone a boost with his ability to help in the mid lane. Excel have performed a bit better than expected, but this is still a team without a real playmaker.

Team Vitality -240

Origen +195

It might be bad that I like so much chalk this week, but I think Vitality are going to get the better of Origen too. Nukeduck is Origen’s main carry, yet he will be going against another star mid laner that has vexed him in Jiizuke. Vitality are stronger at the other positions, and the drafting of Yamatocannon will also help lead Vitality to victory.
