League of Legends 2020 Spring Split Semifinals Odds for LEC and LCS

Two champions of major regions will be crowned this weekend. The LEC and LCS will conclude their Spring Split Playoffs with the semifinals and finals on consecutive days this Saturday and Sunday. There are three teams vying for the title in both regions as Fnatic awaits the winner of G2 Esports and MAD Lions in the LEC Spring Split Finals, while Cloud9 will face off against either Evil Geniuses or FlyQuest in the LCS Spring Split Finals.

League of Legends 2020 LEC Spring Split Playoffs Betting Odds

G2 Esports -750

MAD Lions +425

The MAD Lions shocked the Esports world with their victory over G2 Esports in the first round of the LEC Spring Split Playoffs. G2 were massive favorites per the League of Legends betting odds in that series, but the Lions toppled them in five games to send the defending champions to the lower bracket.

Despite that earlier win, G2 are heavy favorites coming into the rematch. This is still the most talented team in Europe, and they were the best team in the regular season. The main reason for their loss to MAD Lions was their overaggressive play, as seen when they blew an early lead in the decisive game of the series by opting into unfavorable fights.

There is reason for MAD Lions to be optimistic though. Their bottom lane of Carzzy and Kaiser continually got the better of Caps and Mikyx in the first series, and they have a good chance of punishing the duo again. Caps has not transferred his skills from mid lane to bottom lane like Perkz did last year, and he feels a bit like a fish out of water with how he fares in the laning phase.

The biggest impact was in the jungle in the first series. Shadow was the player of the series with a 6.3 KDA, and he continually made his presence felt in the early game. He played five different champions in the five games, showing skill on all except the Kindred. Meanwhile, Jankos wasn’t enough of a difference maker for G2.

At this price, it is worth betting on history to repeat itself. MAD Lions are definitely the underdogs given G2’s talent, but Humanoid was enough of a concern that G2 used their first ban on LeBlanc in their first three games. If Humanoid can play well and Shadow keeps making plays, they could reach the finals and face Fnatic.

League of Legends 2020 LCS Spring Split Playoffs Betting Odds

Evil Geniuses -315

FlyQuest +220

Evil Geniuses stomped FlyQuest when these teams met in the first round of the playoffs. FlyQuest managed to win just one game as the Geniuses’ macro play was far superior, but there is reason to believe that the underdogs will have the advantage this time.

Don’t expect the same performance from Kumo in the top lane this Saturday. FlyQuest allowed the inexperienced top laner to take power picks like Sett or Ornn in the previous series, and he ended up posting the best KDA of any player in the series per Games of Legends (7.0 KDA). Cloud9 showed that Kumo is not the same player when he isn’t on one of these champions, so look for FlyQuest to keep them out of his hands.

Additionally, I expect PowerOfEvil to play better. He was rather lackluster in three games on Azir and a game on Corki, so I believe he will take a more explosive champion into his battle with fellow European mid laner Jiizuke.

FlyQuest will have some trouble in the bottom lane though. Bang and Zeyzal have an edge over WildTurtle and IgNar, and that is a strong win condition for the Geniuses.
