Either MAD Lions or Rogue will claim the LEC Summer Split regular season title this week. The two organizations are tied for first place at 11-4 entering the last week of the season, and they have thrived while no other squad is more than one game over .500. The winner of their match on Saturday will have a leg up the next two days, and the Lions would have a nearly insurmountable advantage if they were to win given their earlier victory over Rogue.
League of Legends 2020 LEC Summer Split Week 8 Betting Odds
FC Schalke 04 -145
Team Vitality +105
This is practically an elimination game as the loser of this match has almost no chance of making playoffs. Schalke have been red hot the last two weeks. They were once left for dead with a record of 1-10, but four straight wins have revitalized this team. Gilius has been exactly the player this team has needed in the jungle with some great performances, while Neon is finally starting to show off his talent in the bottom lane.
Vitality knocked off Schalke in the very first game of the Summer Split, but a lot has changed since that point. There have been jungle issues with both Nji and Skeanz, and Comp has come back down to Earth with his play in the bottom lane. However, their upset win over MAD Lions last week make them the play as Comp looked superb on Caitlyn.
Origen -120
SK Gaming -115
This is a must-win game for Origen. The team that was considered the third best in the region at the start of the Summer Split is in danger of missing out on the postseason entirely with a record of 6-9. They have now dropped four straight matches, and their decision to do something completely different against Schalke last week backfired spectacularly.
For Origen to pick up the victory, they need to take advantage of their edge in jungle. Xerxe is a much better jungler than Trick, and he can get his lanes ahead. That will make the first 15 minutes of this game critical for Origen, and if you don’t see them take an early lead, SK Gaming are a great option in live betting.
Fnatic -225
Excel Esports +160
The seven-time European champions are in danger of missing the postseason too. Fnatic dropped their matches against Rogue and G2 Esports last week, moving them to 7-8 on the season. Their continued inability to beat G2 speaks volumes to their mindset going into their matchups with their arch rival, but the good news is that Fnatic have an incredible manageable last three games. Fnatic play Schalke, Excel, and SK this week, and they are expected to win at least two of those three.
Excel have a real chance of making the postseason, but they will have to earn their way in with their last three games coming against Origen, Fnatic, and G2. This team has been surprisingly competitive with Patrik playing well in the bottom lane, and former Fnatic coach YoungBlood is likely to have something up his sleeve against his former team. Excel are a decent play as an underdog, but this line should move upwards as action will likely come in on Fnatic over the course of the week.
MAD Lions -135
Rogue +100
These two teams have been the stories of the Summer Split. MAD Lions proved their win over G2 in the playoffs last year was no fluke, and Rogue have finally cashed in on their enormous potential. Both teams were upset when they had the chance to break their tie in the standings last Saturday though with MAD Lions losing to Vitality and Rogue falling to SK.
MAD Lions are the more polished team of the two, but Rogue are more individually gifted. Provided they don’t draft themselves into a deficit, they have a good chance of pulling off the slight upset.
G2 Esports -325
Misfits Gaming +225
If you’ve blindly bet on G2 throughout the Summer Split, you’ve lost a ton of money. G2 have been very disappointing given the expectations surrounding the winners of the last three LEC titles, but you can’t go against them here.
Misfits are probably the worst team in the league right now. They have dropped five of their last six matches, and they look like a team ready for the offseason. Their victory over SK was a total fiesta of a game, and Misfits just don’t have an understanding of the last two patches.
