It’s been a crazy start to the LEC Summer Split. No one would have believed that MAD Lions were all alone in first place with Rogue in sole possession of second place a game behind them, while Fnatic was under .500 and currently out of the playoff picture. The seven-time champions have lost four straight games after a 3-0 start in Week 1, and their failure to beat any of the other top teams has set off alarm bells throughout the region.
League of Legends 2020 LEC Summer Split Week 4 Betting Odds
Team Vitality -130
Excel Esports +105
Milica was worth the wait. After being forced to sit out the Spring Split due to visa issues, he has made a huge impact in the Summer Split for Vitality. He has stood out on Corki and Jayce, and in a meta where bottom laners are dealing huge amounts of damager, Milica leads the team with 32.7 percent of his team’s damage. Cabochard has been solid in the top lane, but Nji’s play in the jungle has held this team back.
As for Excel, this organization’s only two victories have come against winless Schalke and an SK Gaming side that has outkicked its coverage. Special has been nothing special in the mid lane, while Kryze is inconsistent in the top lane. This team continues to try to win through Patrik and Tore, but while that bottom lane is decent, the deficiencies elsewhere will lead to another loss here.
MAD Lions -550
FC Schalke 04 +370
Gilius played well in the jungle for Schalke in their most recent loss, but this organization is now 0-7 and the dreams of making playoffs are fading into oblivion. Their bottom lane has yet to make a difference no matter which pair they use, and Odoamne continues to add to his record death total in the top lane.
That makes MAD Lions a great pick here even though this team probably shouldn’t be 6-1. Shadow is having an incredible split in the jungle though, and Kaiser and Carzzy have looked excellent in the bottom lane. Their Wukong-Senna duo has been unbeatable, so it might be banned away from them, but this team has a lot of tricks up its sleeve.
Origen -130
Rogue +105
There is a ton of value in Rogue here. Origen have been hard carried by Upset during the Summer Split. He has an 11.3 KDA and has dealt a whopping 40 percent of his team’s damage per Games of Legends. However, Xerxe has had an uncharacteristically shaky season in the jungle, and Destiny has left something to be desired with his play in support.
Rogue have a bottom lane that can mitigate most of Upset’s potential in the bottom lane, and they can win when elsewhere on the map with Larssen and Inspired. Larssen has been excellent in the mid lane this season, while Inspired might have the edge on Xerxe.
Fnatic -400
SK Gaming +285
This isn’t a must-win for Fnatic, but we are starting to reach that point. The proud organization is reeling after being smashed by G2 Esports once again last Saturday, and Nemesis has had a tough time in the mid lane. He is only dealing 20.2 percent of his team’s damage, and his once reliable Twisted Fate has not looked strong. Selfmade and Rekkles have done their best to carry this team, but there’s only so much they can do.
SK have outkicked their coverage with wins over G2 and Origen, but we saw this team’s limitations in losses to Vitality and Excel. They have benefited from teams looking past them, and the key might be to take Azir out of the equation for ZaZee in the mid lane.
