League of Legends 2020 LCS Summer Split Week 6 Preview

League of Legends 2020 LCS Summer Split Week 6 Preview

Cloud9’s dreams of an undefeated season came to an end last week. The 2020 LCS Spring Split champions lost to a resurgent 100 Thieves as former jungler Contractz was instrumental in dealing C9 their first defeat. He racked up 10 kills and seven assists compared to just one death on Olaf, and his resurgence has 100 Thieves looking like a team to watch over the last month of the season.

League of Legends 2020 LCS Summer Split Week 6 Betting Odds

Team SoloMid -153

FlyQuest +115

Observers were singing Team SoloMid’s praises after the team started the season 6-2, but everyone is a lot more bearish on TSM following their 0-2 week. They were dismantled in under 30 minutes by C9 once more as Doublelift failed to register a single kill, and they were stunned by 2-8 Immortals the following day. It’s clear that Broken Blade and Spica continue to underwhelm as the former has an insanely low 43.1 kill percentage, so it’s hard to trust them too much as a favorite.

FlyQuest are 5-5 at the midway point of the season. They have a mid laner that can go toe to toe with Bjergsen in PowerOfEvil, and this team matches up well with TSM since their weakness in the top lane can’t be exploited by Broken Blade. Mash was absurd in the first meeting between these teams with a 22 KDA on Aphelios, so he can outduel Doublelift in the bottom lane and help the underdogs pull off the upset.

Cloud9 -471

Evil Geniuses +308

It will be interesting to watch what happens with C9 after their first loss of the Summer Split. This is still the most talented team in North America by a mile, but Evil Geniuses aren’t a pushover.

Although he has the worst KDA on the team, Blaber stands a good chance of repeating as league MVP. He has four Player of the Game awards thus far in the Summer Split, and he has been absurd on Lee Sin. Blaber should definitely get the better of Svenskeren in the jungle, and Licorice is far too strong for Kumo in the top lane. That might lead to Evil Geniuses rolling the dice with Huni in the top lane, but that would mean they would need to bench Bang, so it’s a pick your poison for the underdogs.

Golden Guardians -153

Immortals +115

Both these teams have had a rough season, but they both managed to win a game last week to stay in the playoff race. However, due to 100 Thieves’ play in recent weeks, it’s very likely that one of these two teams will miss out on the postseason, placing increasing importance on this match.

Insanity has proven the conventional wisdom about North American mid laners incorrect. Every LCS team was reticent to sign domestic mid laners this offseason, but Insanity’s play has been pivotal to Immortals’ improved play. He has a 4.0 KDA and is dealing 31.2 percent of his team’s damage, and that makes Immortals a solid pick at this price.

Counter Logic Gaming -174

Dignitas +130

After struggling for the last few years, long-time fans of the LCS are happy to see Counter Logic Gaming looking competitive once more. CLG are .500 at this point of the season, but that’s much better than what we saw from them in the Spring Split. Stixxay has looked sharp in the bottom lane, and Pobelter’s Twisted Fate has allowed him to roam and help out his other lanes.

Dignitas won two straight matches after an 0-8 start, and that has them rejuvenated heading into this week. Lourlo has provided consistency in the top lane, while Dardoch has helped give this team a veteran hand. However, this is probably the least talented team in the LCS.
