The LCS Spring Split Playoffs will start this week with Evil Geniuses and FlyQuest squaring off on Saturday, and Cloud9 and 100 Thieves meeting on Sunday. Cloud9 are enormous favorites over the Thieves after posting a 17-1 record in the regular season, but the clash between EG and FlyQuest should be a lot more competitive. Both teams finished the regular season 10-8, yet the Geniuses have the advantage after beating FlyQuest in both of their games during the Spring Split.

Evil Geniuses -180
FlyQuest +145
The Geniuses have been the hottest team in the LCS outside of C9. They won six of their last seven games to finish as the No. 2 seed, and their lone loss during that stretch was against C9.
The bottom lane of Bang and Zeyzal has been the second-best bottom lane in North America, and their play has sparked this team’s turnaround. Bang has a 6.6 KDA per Games of Legends, and he has shined on the older champions he used to dominate on during his time with SK Telecom T1, while Zeyzal continues to make Tahm Kench work with a 17.0 KDA on the champion.
Jiizuke has had his fair share of woes in the mid lane though, and Kumo and Svenskeren have been mediocre players. The latter two players have largely been stuck on Aatrox and Lee Sin, as they haven’t shown the playmaking ability needed to put them on carry champions.
Despite those concerns, the Geniuses have an advantage over FlyQuest. FlyQuest has really fallen off over the last few weeks, and their decision to continually switch between V1per and Solo in the top lane doesn’t inspire much confidence. Santorin has been great on Trundle, and his jungle play probably gives him a small edge over Svenskeren, but the bottom lane is a clear disadvantage. WildTurtle has only played five champions, and that shallow pool will hurt Fly.
If FlyQuest does pull off the upset, it will be through the mid lane. PowerOfEvil continues to shine, and he can single-handedly win games for this team. He has used a handful of completely off-meta picks, and he is very strong on Syndra.

Cloud9 -2000
100 Thieves +750
It was very surprising when C9 announced that they would take on 100 Thieves instead of FlyQuest in the first round. 100 Thieves defeated FlyQuest in the tiebreaker, and they have looked much stronger over the latter half of the season. Ryoma has come along well in the mid lane, Ssumday has looked great in the top lane, and the bottom lane has been solid. However, it’s tough to see them winning more than one game against C9 given how dominant this organization has looked in 2020.
Cloud9 have been unstoppable throughout the split. Zven posted an absurd 14.6 KDA to lead the LCS, and he has looked strong on every champion he has played. Vulcan has been the perfect counterpart to him in the laning phase, and the duo are continually winning bottom lane and getting ahead.
Licorice remains one of the most talented top laners and has played 10 different champions over the split, while Nisqy remains rock solid in the mid lane. Blaber has looked sharp in the jungle, but his heavy reliance on Lee Sin and Gragas is somewhat concerning entering the postseason.
C9 had little trouble with 100T in either of the two previous meetings between these squads this season, so the heavy favorites are the play despite the unfavorable odds. We should see something new from both these teams though.
