League of Legends 2020 LCK Summer Split Week 4 Betting

The LCK Summer Split is nearing the halfway point of the regular season. Only five of the ten teams will make the playoffs, and the regular season is extremely important in Korea due to the gauntlet-style format of the playoffs. Since the team that finishes in first place gets an automatic bye into the Summer Split Finals, there will be a lot of people watching the outcome of DRX’s series with DAMWON Gaming on Saturday.

Saturday, July 11

DRX -153

DAMWON Gaming +115

These teams are tied atop the standings at 6-1. DAMWON Gaming are the underdogs though, despite being more dominant in their individual series. They are 13-2 in individual games compared to a 13-5 record for DRX, and they have been in better form with four straight victories.

DRX continue to defy conventional wisdom by prioritizing drafting champions they feel comfortable on rather than taking the meta or their opponents’ compositions into account. They haven’t dismissed the other two factors, but observers like LS feel that they are winning despite themselves. This team has an excellent bottom lane with Keria proving he is an excellent support beside long-time veteran Deft, and Chovy is arguably the most skilled mid laner in Korea. However, DRX have some real issues in the jungle and top lane as Pyosik and Doran have been rather underwhelming with their play.

Ghost has been a real improvement over Nuclear in the bottom lane, and that has helped DAMWON flourish. The bottom lane had been the weak link of this team, but Ghost has a 5.5 KDA and has looked sharp on Ezreal and Aphelios. ShowMaker has been a showstopper in the mid lane with a 16.9 KDA, while Nuguri continues to dish out huge damage in the top lane per Games of Legends. That makes DAMWON Gaming an excellent play as an underdog here.

Afreeca Freecs -365

SeolHaeOne Prince +251

This is an important series for Afreeca Freecs as SeolHaeOne Prince are a team they should defeat. SeolHaeOne have not won a series since knocking off winless Hanwha Life Esports in their first match of the Summer Split, and they will have a hard time getting a victory here.

The organization formerly known as APK Prince doesn’t match up well with the Freecs. Ikssu has been the primary damage dealer on the team with pocket picks like Illaoi, but he will have to square off with a superb top laner in Kiin. Kiin will have counters ready for whatever we see out of Ikssu, and it’s difficult to see anyone else from SeolHaeOne carrying the day.

Sunday, July 12

Gen. G -1400

Hanwha Life Esports +630

This will be ugly. Gen. G were the regular season champions in the Spring Split, and although they have struggled somewhat in the Summer Split, their issues pale in comparison to those of Hanwha Life. Hanwha have yet to win a series, and they have only one two maps. Griffin’s former bottom lane of Viper and Lehends have played well, but the other three positions have been a mess.

It will be very difficult for Hanwha Life to win a map in this series, as their bottom lane can’t outshine Gen. G’s star bottom laner Ruler. Ruler continues to thrive as the centerpiece of this squad, and he is currently unbeaten in six games on Ashe.

T1 -610

Team Dynamics +365

You just can’t go with T1 when they are this big of a favorite against a team that is only 1.5 games behind them in the standings. While T1 has the best player in the history of the sport in Faker and an incredible bottom laner in Teddy, they haven’t looked great in other areas. Canna is playing in the top lane and we have seen subs take over for Cuzz and Effort on more than one occasion.

Rich has had an excellent season thus far for Team Dynamics with four MVP performances in the team’s eight map victories. The rest of the roster is largely smoke and mirrors with old veterans like Beyond, Kuzan, and GuGer in the mix, but they have been competitive.
