2021 LCS Spring Split Week 3 Preview

Team Liquid have not looked sharp through the first two weeks of the 2021 LCS Spring Split. The winners of the inaugural LCS Lock In Tournament are just 3-3 with losses to Immortals, Team SoloMid, and 100 Thieves. Liquid need to right the ship and soon given the Spring Split is just six weeks long in this format, but they will close out the week with a tough test against Cloud9 on Sunday.

2021 LCS Spring Split Week 3 Betting Odds

Cloud9 -459
Dignitas +320

Through the first two weeks of the Spring Split, it looks like Cloud9 are the best team in the LCS. Every player save Vulcan has at least a 5.9 KDA per Games of Legends, and Blaber is the best jungler in the region. Perkz has been mostly impressive though there have been some hiccups, but we’ve seen some hit or miss play out of Fudge in the top lane.

FakeGod might not be able to punish Fudge, but Dardoch can somewhat neutralize Blaber in the jungle. Dignitas are built around Dardoch, and his ability to make unusual picks work means that Cloud9 might be caught on the back foot. Neo and Aphromoo currently lead the LCS in KDA, so this is great value in Dignitas.

Immortals -117
Counter Logic Gaming -108

Counter Logic Gaming finally picked up their first win of the season last week, knocking off Golden Guardians after losing their first five games. They finally have jungler Broxah available after his visa issues were resolved, so this team is at full strength. However, they haven’t been too impressive with Finn struggling in the top lane and WildTurtle doing WildTurtle things in the bottom lane.

That should lead to an Immortals win here. Insanity is playing very well in the mid lane on control mages like Orianna, and Xerxe is a proactive jungler that can make plays. The Australian bottom lane needs a little more help, but we saw some nice plays out of Destiny in the support tole last week.

100 Thieves -164
Team SoloMid +128

There won’t be many times I take TSM this season, but this is one of them. TSM were seen as a joke in Week 1, but they were the sharpest team in Week 2. PowerOfEvil played great in the mid lane, and Huni had a throwback performance in the top lane. SwordArt has yet to really play well in the support role, yet it’s only a matter of time before he plays at an elite level again.

As for 100 Thieves, this team is talented, but a lot of their success has come from this team having previous chemistry. I look for 100 Thieves to take a step back as the season wears on as other teams come together more, and the play of Ssumday last week was pretty concerning.

Evil Geniuses +172
Team Liquid -223

Liquid should bounce back with a win over Evil Geniuses on Saturday. This team has made some fixable mistakes in recent weeks, but they are the most talented team in the LCS. Alphari is dealing 31.9 percent of his team’s damage, yet that will change as Jensen and Tactical get more involved.

We saw Jiizuke tilt in a bad way last week, dying to tower shots twice in three minutes against Dignitas. His decision to play Lucian mid in that game did not work well, and the current meta is not for him. Evil Geniuses do have a bottom lane that has been better than expected though.

Golden Guardians +179
FlyQuest -234

Although FlyQuest are better than Golden Guardians, they should not be this much of a favorite. FlyQuest have not looked sharp with their new lineup as Licorice has really struggled in the top lane and Palafox hasn’t been impressive in the mid lane.

Golden Guardians did not spend a lot of money this offseason, largely going with academy players, but Stixxay was brought in to give the team a veteran presence. He has played well and makes GG worth a play.
