2019 CBLOL Winter Split

Things move a little differently south of the equator. While all the regions that play League of Legends north of the equator will be playing their Summer Splits in the coming weeks, Brazil has already finished their Summer Split. Instead, the CBLOL will begin its Winter Split next week, and eight teams are looking to emerge victorious and earn a spot at the 2019 League of Legends World Championship in Europe.

2019 CBLOL Winter Split Betting Odds

Flamengo eSports +160
INTZ e-Sports +300
Redemption POA +500
PAIN Gaming +500
KaBuM! e-Sports +1400
CNB e-Sports Club +1800
Uppercut esports +2200
Team oNe Esports +3300

Flamengo was favored to win the Summer Split, and they looked set to cruise to their first CBLOL title after a dominating performance earlier in the year. They finished the regular season 20-1, and their lone loss during that stretch was to KaBuM!. Flamengo had no problem with CNB in the semifinals of the Summer Split Playoffs, but they were stunned 3-2 by INTZ in the final. The favorites won Game 1 of the series in just over 22 minutes, but the next three games lasted at least 43 minutes, and they fell apart in the late game

They are the favorites again, and Flamengo are determined not to let their fans down this time. This team has the best bottom laner in the region in brTT, and they have three Korean imports as well. brTT had the highest KDA in the CBLOL by a mile last split (9.7 KDA per Games of Legends), and Luci, Shrimp, and Goku also finished in the top five in KDA.

This is the team to beat, and the only thing that can beat them is themselves. The one weakness on this team is top laner Robo, as he showed an inability to play any champions other than tank champions throughout the Summer Split. If he has added a few carry champions to his repertoire, this team should waltz to the title.

INTZ stunned everyone by winning the Summer Split over Flamengo. That was largely due to the play of Tay in the top lane and Envy in the mid lane. Tay proved that he could play carry champions in the final, and he came up big on Renekton, Hecarim, and Kayle. Meanwhile, Envy was incredible throughout the series. He continually took mages into the mid lane, and he won big with them, posting an 8.3 KDA in the five-game series compared to a 2.2 KDA for his counterpart.

The continued development of Mills as the team’s bottom laner is something to watch this split. Everyone assumed that Mills would be the substitute and WhiteLotus would be the starter in the bottom lane, but Mills has surpassed all expectations to this point. If he continues to grow, they can challenge brTT and Flamengo once more.

I’m a little surprised that you can get plus-odds on the top two favorites, as they seem to be far ahead of the rest of the teams in the region. Redemption was the only other team to post a winning record during the Summer Split, and everyone else finished below .500.

If any other team is going to upset the applecart, my money is on KaBuM. They had a disappointing Summer Split, but this team won both split titles in 2018, and they shook things up during the offseason. They brought in Wizer, DudsTheBoy, and Ceos earlier this week, and the decision to add Wizer from the LCK’s Sandbox Gaming could prove to be inspired. KaBuM already has two stars in Ranger and dyNquedo, so bottom lane consistency is key.
