eSports Betting Online Odds

For the past five years, Korean teams have dominated League of Legends. Each of the last five World Champions have hailed from Korea, and we have had an all-Korean finals in each of the last three years. However, this might be the year that Korean dominance comes to an end. A Chinese team, Royal Never Give Up, won the Mid-Season Invitational and China knocked off Korea for a second straight year at Rift Rivals. It’s incredibly likely that a team from one of these two regions wins Worlds, but who will it be?

South Korea

Although international tournaments have not gone in favor of Korean teams this year, they are still the favorites to win the LoL World Championships according to these eSports betting odds. KT Rolster, Afreeca Freecs, and Gen.G are the three teams that will represent Korea next month, while Kingzone DragonX and SK Telecom T1 watch from home after failing to qualify.

KT won the LCK Summer Split, so some are calling them the favorite of the three. However, I think Gen.G has the best shot of winning it all. Gen.G won the title as Samsung Galaxy last year, and that entire team is back to defend their crown. They looked sharp in running the gauntlet, knocking off both Griffin and Kingzone to grab the last spot at Worlds.

China

It’s not hard to make the case that the two best teams in the world right now are Chinese teams. Coming into Worlds, you can’t say that any other team is better than Royal Never Give Up. RNG won the Mid-Season Invitational, won the decisive game for China at Rift Rivals, and claimed both LPL Splits. The meta has been favoring aggression, and that has really helped this team thrive while others have floundered.

Invictus Gaming are the other team from China to watch out for. Invictus looked dominant during both splits in domestic play, but they have been unable to get past RNG in the past. They have a great top laner in TheShy and a very good mid laner in Rookie, so they could easily make a run at finals.

Europe

The only European team to worry about is Fnatic. Team Vitality and G2 aren’t going to do much at Worlds, but Fnatic could make some noise. They crushed all comers in Europe this season, and they finally have a second fantastic mechanical player in Caps. Caps and Rekkles could lead Fnatic very far if they get a favorable draw.

North America

North America are a longer shot to have a team win after years of crashing and burning at this stage. However, the region has two teams that can upset the apple cart in Team Liquid and Cloud9. Liquid won both splits this year and Doublelift is the best AD Carry in the region, so it’s no shock to see them. Meanwhile, Cloud9 are on this list because of their innovative selections and strategies over the past two months, and they are sure to have something special for us at Worlds.

Rest of the World

The main team you’re backing here is Flash Wolves. Flash Wolves have run roughshod over their counterparts from the LMS, and they have looked impressive at MSI in each of the past three years. They haven’t had a ton of success at Worlds, but this year’s team is very strong and one to keep an eye on.
