2018 LOL Betting Odds

If you thought that the 2018 League of Legends season was over just because the World Championships finished up last weekend, you’d be mistaken. There are still a handful of offseason tournaments and All-Stars left to be played.

Invictus Gaming swept Fnatic 3-0 in one of the most lopsided World Championships ever last Saturday. It was a rout from start to finish, and Fnatic could barely keep up with the aggressive and proactive play of the best team in the LPL during the regular season. IG’s win has led to more people going back and watching the LPL to try to glean insights into how to play or stop this style, as it worked so well on the grandest stage.

That has led to a lot of interest in this year’s National Electronic Sports Tournament (NEST) event. Eight of the top teams in China will square off next weekend for some prize money and bragging rights, and a chance to win the trophies that were hoarded by Invictus Gaming and Royal Never Give Up this season. Neither team will be taking part in this event, and fellow powerhouse Edward Gaming will be using Team Fighter’s roster instead.

2018 League of Legends National Electronic Sports Tournament Betting Odds

Topsports Gaming -188 LGD Gaming +137

This is the closest series in terms of the odds. In the LPL 2018 Summer Split, Topsports posted a 10-9 record in the easier West Region, while LGD went 9-10 in the much tougher East Region.

That has some believing that LGD will pull off the small upset here. These teams met in a three-game series back in mid-July, and LGD pulled out a come-from-behind win. They were narrowly beaten by Topsports in the first game, but the followed that up with two dominant performances in the next two games to get the victory.

Jungler Eimy was the difference maker the last time around. He posted a 9.3 KDA on Nocturne and Sejuani in the two wins, and he was constantly getting the ball rolling for his solo laners. That makes LGD a very live dog.

JD Gaming -2000 OMG +750

It’s hard to bet a 1/20 favorite in League of Legends, but JD Gaming looked incredible by the end of the year. They posted a 13-6 record in the East, and they nearly knocked off Edward Gaming in the Regional Finals for a potential spot at Worlds.

LokeN has been one of the top AD Carries in the LPL. He finished the year with a 6 KDA, and he was phenomenal on Varus and Ezreal. He has a jungler that will help him get the ball going in the early game too in Clid, who has been very sharp on champions with strong early games. That should be enough for JD to get the win, but I would rather take them to win 2-0 than on the moneyline.

Rogue Warriors -800 Edward Gaming +450

All year long, Doinb and Smlz have been the carries for Rogue Warriors. The duo accounted for nearly 60 percent of the team’s total damage in the Summer Split per tracking site Games of Legends, and they should be the focal point of the team’s strategy once more. In this meta, getting ahead and snowballing your lane is huge, and those two players can do just that. They should be the favorites to win the entire tournament.
