2018 CS:GO DreamHack Atlanta Online

Most of the competitive Esports around the world are on a bit of break right now, but there is still plenty going on in the world of CS:GO. The shooter has been around longer than any other Esport, and as such there are always a variety of tournaments going on. This week, the biggest event is the DreamHack Open in Atlanta, and eight teams will battle it out for a $100,000 prize pool over the better part of three days. Team Vitality were the favorites to win it all just last week, but on Monday their head coach abruptly quit the team, throwing things into a bit of disarray.

2018 CS:GO DreamHack Atlanta Betting Odds

Complexity -250

This match is the most lopsided of any of the initial matches. Given the concerns over Vitality, Complexity is the overall favorite per the CS:GO betting odds headed into this competition. Complexity have not been playing well in recent weeks, but this is a team that has won before and players like ShahZam and Stanislaw will be some of the best at this competion.

Meanwhile, Envy are in some disarray. They were pretty competitive on the European scene for a long while, but the organization decided to cut bait on its team in June, releasing its entire roster and repositioning itself in America. Envy pieced together a team made largely from old Splyce players, and it will take some time for them to find chemistry. This will be their first tournament together, and there are sure to be bumps in the road.

Vitality -140 Ghost +110

My favorite bet of this round is probably Ghost at these odds. Ghost have been playing very good lately, and they have one of the top players at the competition in Wardell. His K/D has been nuts, and he is one of the highest-rated players in Atlanta this weekend.

One player can’t win a game, but Vitality are going to be wishing they had their coach this weekend. It was rather curious to see head coach ‘Faculty’ leave the team the week of a big tournament, and that is a noticeable absence. I suspect the team will be slow to adjust to whatever strategies Ghost employs, and that will be their downfall.

Luminosity -150 eUnited +125

These two sides have plenty of experience playing each other. They have been matched up often over the last week, with the two sides squaring off twice at IEM Chicago XIII and twice at ECS Season Six on Wednesday. Luminosity got the last laugh last week at IEM, winning both of the games, but eUnited won the two ECS games 16-11 and 16-2 on Wednesday night.

With such recent history to look back at, it’s pretty easy to go with eUnited at this price. They weren’t a favorite coming into the tournament, but they have proved that they can knock off Luminosity. They recently replaced -Ace and Relyks with FNS and Cooper, but they have all had some time to get acclimated

Fragsters -110

This is the most evenly matched series per the oddsmakers, and these teams have a history. Both sides were at DreamHack Austin, and Rogue were able to knock off Fragsters in the semifinals there. However, Fragsters have looked stronger over the last few months, and that has led to this series being lined as a pick ‘em. I think Fragsters will get their revenge based on the recent play.
