Sam Eggington might be the current IBF International Super-Welterweight title holder, but he is a substantial underdog per the boxing betting odds. Eggington is a +310 underdog ahead of this fight, so if you’re unfamiliar with betting on boxing, that means you would win $310 in profit for a $100 bet on the reigning champion. Meanwhile, you would need to bet $390 to win $100 on challenger Ted Cheeseman at these prices.

As the fight nears, there will be decision betting too. You will be able to bet on whether the fight is decided by KO, TKO, or decision, and you can bet on which boxer will win the fight in that fashion as well.

Sam Eggington vs Ted Cheeseman Preview

The Big Cheese is seen as one of the top young British boxers in the game. Cheeseman began his professional career in September 2015, and he had little trouble mowing down every opponent placed in front of him. He claimed the English light middleweight title in July 2017 with a third-round TKO of Matthew Ryan, winning his first belt less than two years into his career.

We saw Cheeseman take on Carson Jones for the WBA International light middleweight belt in February 2018, and he claimed a unanimous decision victory. He defended the title with a fourth-round TKO of Paul Upton four months later, earning him a chance at the British light middleweight strap. Cheeseman defeated Asinia Byfield by unanimous decision to grab the belt and move his record to 15-0.

The last two years haven’t gone well for Cheeseman though. He lost by unanimous decision to Sergio Garcia for the European light middleweight belt in February of last year, and he followed that up with a draw against Kieron Conway last June. Cheeseman lost his British light middleweight belt to Scott Fitzgerald in October, so the once decorated fighter is currently without anything to keep his waist warm. He has yet to fight outside of the UK in his career.

Eggington turned pro three years before Cheeseman, but he has entered the ring nearly twice as many times. The title holder had some setbacks early on, losing twice in his first 11 bouts, yet he put those defeats in the rear-view mirror five years ago when he knocked out Shayne Singleton in order to claim the WBC International Silver welterweight belt.

He added two additional regional belts over his next few fights before losing to Bradley Skeete by unanimous decision. That loss didn’t hold him down for long as he claimed the WBC International welterweight belt and then the European welterweight belt in his next four bouts before suffering a tough split decision loss to Mohamed Mimoune.

We have seen Eggington win his last four bouts, but there are questions about his stamina given that he hasn’t gone further than the sixth round in any of his last nine fights.

Total Rounds Betting

The fight is scheduled for 12 rounds. Total betting rounds odds will be available soon so be sure to check back. Total betting rounds odds is a wager on how long the fight will last. Let’s say if the total rounds betting line is Over 11.5 Rounds -200, that means that if you think the fight is going to go all 12 rounds, for you to win your bet you would need to bet $200 to win $100. Conversely if you wager Under 11.5 Rounds +150, you would need to risk $100 to win $150. As long as the fight did not go past the 11th round, you would win the under.
