Undefeated lightweight Keyshawn Davis puts his perfect record on the line against one-loss opponent Gustavo Daniel Lemos in a scheduled 10-round fight on Saturday, November 8 in Davis’ home town of Norfolk, Virginia. The entire day will be a Davis family reunion with his two brothers on the undercard. But Keyshawn will be the main event as he looks for a chance at a world title with a win over the veteran Lemos a good start. And Davis is a huge -950 favorite to win the fight.
Standing in the way of Davis’ world championship ambitions is the veteran Lemos, who lost for the first time in 30 professional fights back in April dropping a disputed unanimous decision to Richardson Hitchins in an IBF super lightweight eliminator bout. Lemos drops down a class to take on the rising Davis and is listed as a +566 underdog on the early boxing betting line.
Keyshawn Davis vs. Gustavo Lemos Betting Odds
Keyshawn Davis -950
Gustavo Lemos +566
The 10-round lightweight fight between Keyshawn Davis ( 11-0, 7 KOs ) and Gustavo Lemos ( 29-1, 19 KOs) is scheduled to take place on Saturday, November 8, 2024 at Scope Arena in Norfolk, VA. The fight will stream live on ESPN+.
Keyshawn Davis vs. Gustavo Lemos Fight Preview
There’s a lot on the line for both fighters in this highly-anticipated fight. For Davis it’s a chance to cement his status as a top lightweight contender and put him in line for a shot at a world title. It would also be a big feather in his cap that currently lacks those items. Davis earned the biggest win of his career in February with a sixth-round TKO of former two-weight world champion Jose Pedraza, winning the vacant IBF-USBA lightweight title in the process.
Davis climbed the ranks quickly but needs impressive wins to crack through in a loaded lightweight division. He’s currently the No. 6 ranked lightweight, according to ESPN, behind big names like Gervonta Davis, Vasiliy Lomachenko and Shakur Stevenson.
It seemed as though Davis was destined for greatness since his amateur days. He won silver medals at the 2019 Pan-Am Games, 2019 World Championships and 2020 Tokyo Olympics leading into his professional career. And the wins kept coming with a shot at the WBO intercontinental lightweight title in just his seventh professional fight. He scored a unanimous decision over former top-ranked featherweight Juan Carlos Burgos in 2022 and has been battling for some sort of title in every bout since.
There is only one blemish on Davis’ record. One year ago he originally won a majority decision over Nahir Albright to retain his lightweight titles. However, the verdict was changed to a no-contest after Davis tested positive for marijuana. He responded with impressive wins in his last two fights stopping Pedraza and getting a UD against brawler Miguel Madueno. Davis may have learned something about himself that will serve him well heading into this match with another tough opponent.
Lemos definitely can’t be overlooked and I was surprised at the opening odds for this fight. It seems as though Lemos has been around forever with 30 professional fights on his resume. However, he’s just 28-years-old and recently suffered his first loss. Most viewers said the fight could’ve gone either way, but the judges didn’t agree giving Richardson Hitchins the UD. Lemos’ resume consists of a lot of wins against regional based opponents. He proved to be the best of the bunch but enters a new ring so to speak with a fight against Davis.

Bet Keyshawn Davis vs. Gustavo Lemos
Even though his list of opponents is suspect Lemos prevailed in his first 29 bouts, which should tell us something. In his first fight in the States, Lemos suffered his first defeat, but that doesn’t take away what he did at the regional level. Unfortunately, as you move up the ranks the opposition becomes stronger. It’s easy to see why Lemos is such a huge underdog and I think his only shot at victory is landing one of his deadly power punches. He’s a brawler and can scrap with the best, but Davis got a taste of that in his last fight and will be ready for anything that comes his way.
