Jermall Charlo -176

It’s a little surprising that Jermall Charlo is a relatively short favorite coming into this fight since he is currently undefeated. If you are new to betting on boxing, you would need to bet $176 on Charlo to win $100, while a $100 wager on the underdog would return a $147 profit.

As the fight nears, there will be decision betting too. You will be able to bet on whether the fight is decided by KO, TKO, or decision, and you can bet on which boxer will win the fight in that fashion as well.

Jermall Charlo vs Sergiy Derevyanchenko Preview

Jermall Charlo is one minute older than his brother, and he was the first to win a title. He turned pro in August 2008, and he ended up stopping 14 straight opponents within seven rounds between August 2010 and December 2014. That stretch ended with a unanimous decision victory over Michael Finney, but that win led to a title fight with Cornelius Bundrage for the IBF junior middleweight belt.

The elder Charlo had no trouble with the champion, knocking Bundrage out in the third round to claim his first strap. He defended the belt three times before deciding to take a step up to middleweight, and that decision was soon rewarded with a title bout against Hugo Centeno Jr.in April 2018.

Centeno was no match for Charlo’s power. Jermall Charlo sent him to the mat in the second round, earning the WBC middleweight title. However, his next two opponents proved to be a bit more difficult as he couldn’t overpower boxers like he could in the lower divisions. Charlo secured unanimous decision wins in those fights, but he scored a seventh-round TKO of Dennis Hogan to get back on track in December.

Derevyanchenko didn’t turn pro until he was 28 years old, but he immediately established himself as one of the top boxers in the business. He started his career with 12 straight victories, and that led to a title fight against Daniel Jacobs with the IBF middleweight belt on the line. That ended in a split decision loss for the Ukrainian, handing him his first professional defeat.

He responded with an easy win over Jack Culcay, earning him a shot at Canelo Alvarez. However, the two could not come to terms with reports indicating that Alvarez’s team severely lowballed Derevyanchenko, leading to Alvarez’s title being taken. Instead, Derevyanchenko faced Gennady Golovkin, and he proved to be one of GGG’s most difficult opponents to date. While GGG won a unanimous decision, it was close on all three judge’s scorecards, and both fighters landed close to the same punches.
