Terence Crawford (35-0, 26 knockouts)

In his last six fights, Crawford has six wins and no losses. He defeated John Molina Jr. by TKO in the eighth round, Félix Díaz by corner retirement in the 10th round, Julius Indongo by KO in the third round, Jeff Horn by TKO in the ninth round, José Benavidez Jr. by TKO in the 12th round, and Amir Khan by TKO in the sixth round. Crawford gets a knockout win 74.29% of the time.

Crawford said this to worldboxingnews.net about his upcoming bout against Kavaliauskas, “Egidijus Kavaliauskas is a two-time Olympian and I can’t take him lightly. He’s got everything to gain and nothing to lose and that makes him dangerous. I never overlook any opponent, and this will be no exception. I’ll be ready for anything and everything he brings on December 14 when I return to my second home, Madison Square Garden, and live on ESPN.”

Egidijus Kavaliauskas (21-0-1, 17 knockouts)

In his last six fights, Kavaliauskas has five wins and one draw. He defeated Daniel Echeverria by KO in the seventh round, Mahonri Montes by TKO in the seventh round, David Avanesyan by TKO in the sixth round, Juan Carlos Abreu by unanimous decision, and Roberto Arriaza by KO in the third round; while fighting to a majority draw against Ray Robinson, Kavaliauskas gets a knockout win 77.27% of the time.

Kavaliauskas said this to espn.com about his upcoming bout against Crawford, “I have prepared my whole boxing career for a fight of this magnitude. Terence Crawford is an excellent fighter, but I fear no man. Nobody has seen the best of the 'Mean Machine' yet. I am going to shock a lot of people on Dec. 14, but it won't be a surprise to me. I earned this title shot. It is my time."

Boxing Picks

Crawford is highly favored and it is hard to argue, but I don’t lay this type of price, regardless of who it is. Crawford should get the win based on his talent and experience, but it may not be easy. Kavaliauskas is a capable and tough boxer and he will not be someone who goes in afraid. That should at least make this an exciting and interesting matchup. Kavaliauskas will have to show some speed and stay out of trouble, but he is capable of doing that, at least for a while. It will be hard for Kavaliauskas to win this fight by knockout and he is extremely unlikely to win by decision, so this should be a Crawford win. The problem is laying a huge price. The only real option on this bout is to play the rounds and the value is likely going to be on taking the fight to go the distance. I’ll take the rounds to go over the total.

Boxing Pick: Terence Crawford to win by decision and the rounds to go over the total.
