Winston Salem Open Tennis Betting OddsTennis Betting Online: Wake Forest University is known for its southern charm in Winston-Salem, and it doesn't get much better than seeing tennis played on this campus. The Winston-Salem Open will start on Saturday, August 20 and run through Saturday, August 27.

This is only the sixth year in which the tournament is being held in Winston-Salem. Prior to that, New Haven, Connecticut owned the rights to this tournament, and prior to that, it was held in Long Island. When you go that far back, you'll find a lot of great champions of this event, including Patrick Rafter, Carlos Moya, Andre Agassi and Ivan Lendl.

However, at this point, the Winston-Salem Open is slotted onto the calendar in a relatively poor spot. The U.S. Masters Series is in the middle of going on, and though the players do have a week off from the major events after playing in Cincinnati the week prior, most aren't going to want to play in a tournament which is this small. The Olympics will be just a couple weeks in the rearview mirror, and the U.S. Open is just a couple weeks away. Weeks off from big time play are few and far between, so you won't see the like of Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer, Andy Murray or Stan Wawrinka coming to Winston-Salem.

There are 48 players on the men's side who partake in this event, meaning there are going to be a lot of men in this field who you aren't used to seeing play in major tournaments.

The last four finalists in the Winston-Salem Open definitely don't register in the minds of many tennis bettors. Kevin Anderson beat Pierre-Hugues Herbert in the final of the Winston-Salem Open last year, while in 2014, Lukas Rosol knocked off Jerzy Janowicz in the finale.
