2014 Pocono 400 Winner - Dale Earnhardt Jr. wins the at Pocono Raceway

He may not have had the fastest car, but Dale Earnhardt Jr. had the winning car, passing leader Brad Keselowski with five laps remaining Sunday at Pocono Raceway.

The final moments were eventful as Keselowski, who led a race-high 95 laps, slowed due to an overheated engine caused by a wrapper on the grille of his car. Feeling his motor would blow if the temperatures continued to climb, Keselowski attempted to remove the debris from his nose by pulling up behind the lapped machine of Danica Patrick.

Seizing the opportunity, Earnhardt went by Keselowski off of Turn 2, but then too saw his engine temps rise because of debris. With his team telling him, "Ignore it," Earnhardt went on to win for the second time in 2014. Both drivers made it to the finish.

2013 Party in the Pocono 400 Winner - Jimmie Johnson wins the 2013 Party in the Pocono 400

It's not a good idea to rile up Jimmie Johnson. A week after a penalty for jumping the final restart at Dover knocked Johnson out of a near-certain victory, Johnson absolutely scorched the field in Sunday's NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Party in the Poconos 400, beating Greg Biffle to the finish line by 1.208 seconds.

The win was Johnson's third of the season, his third at the Tricky Triangle and the 63rd of his career. Johnson increased his series lead over second-place Carl Edwards (18th Sunday) to a staggering 51 points after 14 races.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. ran third, followed by Stewart-Haas Racing teammates Tony Stewart and Ryan Newman. Kyle Busch, Kurt Busch, Denny Hamlin, Kevin Harvick and Joey Logano completed the top 10.

Johnson avoided a surfeit of action in the late stages of the race--because he was ahead of it. By the time Dave Blaney's spin brought out the fourth caution on Lap 138, the five-time champion already had led 106 laps.

2012 Pocono 400 Winner - Joey Logano wins at Pocono Raceway for 2nd title

Joey Logano stood on top of the No. 20 high-fiving everyone he could reach in Victory Lane. Beverages were sprayed, fists were pumped and throaty shouts of celebration could be heard well down the 2 1/2-mile track.

It's what winning a Sprint Cup race is all about. It's what Logano has waited years to truly experience. Not rain or Mark Martin would deny him this feeling.

Logano gave a crafty Martin a well-timed nudge out of the way in the closing laps Sunday at Pocono Raceway to clinch his first victory since 2009 and become the first Sprint Cup driver this season to win from the pole.

The one-time prodigy and the grizzled veteran pushing hard down the stretch was a duel to remember at Pocono.

“I didn't stop screaming until I got to Victory Lane,” Logano said. “You work so hard to do this.”

This one felt like the first time for Logano after his only other career win in 125 Sprint Cup starts was a rain-shortened victory at New Hampshire. Wins count the same in the record book. But they sure do feel different.

“When you cross the line and you've won the race, to me, it's an amazing feeling,” Logano said.

Logano had the top car all weekend, posting the fastest practice time Friday and then taking the pole Saturday.

Logano, once a much-hyped phenom when he broke in with Joe Gibbs Racing, was under pressure to produce victories in the final year of his four-year contract.

Logano's win continues a recent uptick of solid results in the Cup series. He has insisted this season his contract status has not added pressure.

2011 Pocono 500 Winner - Hendrick Motorsports Shines As Stewart-Haas Struggles

Hendrick Motorsports once again had a strong showing Sunday at Pocono Raceway, putting three cars in the top 10 at the time of the checkered flag. Jeff Gordon led the way for the Hendrick team, scoring the win Sunday over Kurt and Kyle Busch. Gordon had to fend off a late charge by teammate Jimmie Johnson to secure the victory.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. had yet another solid day in the No. 88 Chevrolet, finishing the day in sixth. Mark Martin once again struggled to keep pace with his three teammates, at one point earning the free pass.

For the third consecutive week, Penske Racing showed a marked improvement. Kurt Busch scored the team's third consecutive pole Saturday afternoon and led 37 laps en route to his second place finish. Brad Keselowski was unable to back up last week's win, finishing in the 23rd spot. Despite Keselowski's mediocre day, the Penkse cars once again proved they are on the right track, with Busch taking the pole in a backup car and contending for the win much of the afternoon.

2010 Winner

This was yet another exciting race to watch like on the past years. The 200 lap race itself was delayed due to maintenance issues because of a pothole patching and the rain as well.

The winner of the 2010 Pocono Raceway was #11 Denny Hamlin. This was a great win from Denny Hamlin. This was the fourth time Hamlin has won at Pocono and the sixth time he's finished in the top 10.

Mr. James Hamlin was born in Chesterfield, Virginia in November of 1980. Hamlin's racing career began in 1988 when he was just 7. His Nascar career began in 2004 when he competed in five.
