2014 Get to Know Newton 250 Winner - Hornish Jr. wins Newton 250 NNS race at Iowa

It was strictly a two-man show Sunday at Iowa Speedway, where Sam Hornish Jr. ran down Ryan Blaney late to win the Get To Know Newton 250 NASCAR Nationwide Series race.

Hornish drove his Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota past the Team Penske Ford of Blaney after a restart on the 229th of 250 laps to win his third career Nationwide race in 101 starts. All told, Blaney and Hornish combined to lead 247 laps on the day as the two put on a textbook display of dominance for the Iowa fans.

JR Motorsports teammates Regan Smith and Chase Elliott finished third and fourth, with Hornish's teammate, Elliott Sadler, fifth.

2013 Dupont Pioneer 250 Winner - Trevor Bayne wins DuPont Pioneer 250

Trevor Bayne stepped away Sunday afternoon from the giant gas-pump trophy by his side at Iowa Speedway to shift his attention toward his next racing objective - getting his car back.

The No. 6 sitting in victory lane at the conclusion of the DuPont Pioneer 250 - the only one capable of catching Austin Dillon, let alone passing him - changed hands inside the Roush Fenway Racing garage in the hours before Sunday's race.

Crew chief Mike Kelley sold the winning ride to Nationwide Series driver Chris Buescher's team.

It might have been the only misstep of the weekend for Kelley, who generally seems to push all of the right buttons at Iowa Speedway.

Bayne captured the second Nationwide win of his career five days after his wedding, a Ford drove to victory lane for the 200th time in circuit history and a Kelley assembled the winning package for the fourth time in his last five races at Newton.

2012 Pioneer Hi-Bred 250 Winner - Stenhouse owns Iowa's oval again

Ricky Stenhouse didn't need a fortuitous push from a teammate to win at Iowa Speedway this time. His No. 6 car kept the drama and his foes out of reach.

He led 209 of 250 laps and won Sunday's Pioneer Hi-Bred 250 NASCAR Nationwide race for his third straight win on Iowa's 0.875-mile short oval.

Stenhouse won both Iowa races in 2011, including in August when he blew an engine and was pushed across the finish line by Carl Edwards.

Elloitt Sadler was second but his No. 2 Chevrolet was found to be too low in postrace inspection. Michael McDowell tied his career best by finishing third.

Darrell Wallace Jr., a member of the NASCAR Drive for Diversity program making his series debut, finished ninth for Joe Gibbs Racing.

2011 Winner

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. had to overcome two Sprint Cup regulars and former Nationwide champions - Carl Edwards and Brad Keselowski - to claim his first ever win in the Nationwide series at Iowa Speedway.

Edwards and Keselowski had needed to hot-foot it from the All-Star event at Charlotte Motor Speedway to make it for the green flag at 2.17pm, but at least they had good starting positions (fourth and tenth respectively) after qualifying was washed out and the grid order set by owner points. That put Stenhouse Jr. in eighth place for the start.

Cautions during the 250 laps included Ryan Truex hitting the wall after a tyre problem on lap 110, a spin for Angela Cope at the restart on lap 117 and a copycat spin for her twin sister Amber a few laps later. The final caution was caused by Brian Scott who lost control of his car right in front of Stenhouse Jr.
